Well my passenger door has dead locked on the cupra, tried all the tapping tricks, button clicks and handle pulls so far but no good.

Now is there a way apart from drilling a hole in the door to get access to unscrewing the securing screw?

Is there anyway to hook a metal coat hanger from the back door to the lock to some how pop the door out of the lock....gutted only the 1 bolt from the mech can be accessed by having the rear door open or is there an easier way to unlock the unit?

Need to get some duck tap as i got a far as the window mech before it started to rain.

Well finally managed to get the door apart!

Bad news is that one of the window carrier clips was broke so that made it a sod to undo the one bolt apart from that was having trouble getting to the central locking unit after all that so took a 5x2cm section out of the door frame which then gave me access to the nylon clip where i found the spring had come off so managed to put that back on and then thought what about shoving a screw driver under the metal pivot arm.....did this and pop the door opened!

So i though awesome it's going to be easy now go the unit out and pulled it apart to find the following!

1) Blue wire off the switch had come off
2) A blue powdery substance was on the metal legs of the power connector
3) Check the solder joint and switches all looked good after that put it back together and tried the unit again.

But still nothing so after all that i think its either the motor or power connector.......ordered a new unit off ebay for £48, so just waiting for that to arrive now.

But if anyone ever has the issue with the dead lock try one of the pick tools supplied for the old nokias with the bent tip.......this will probably fit in the small gap available to push against the unit, so you dont have to drill or cut the door.
