DIY Wheel Refurbs - what do i need?

2 of my wheels are pretty battered to be honest and could do with a refurb, but as im adventurous (and cheap ) i'm thinking of giving it a bash myself!

saw in halfords that they do those DIY kits which are about £30 but from reading the box its just liquid metal a few sheets of sandpaper and paint which you can buy seperate for next to nowt!

so if i got some liquid metal or some of that putty stuff that dries like metal, filled in the scrapes, sanded it down and then painted it would that do the job?

if it saves me a few pennies its worth a go, otherwise its only off to the refurbers anyway!

any suggestions peeps?

I used just body filler. Worked alright - hasn't fallen out yet!

t cut, g3 and polish lol... thats for the polished look...

havnt tried it yet tho

for the polished look you need nitromorse, loads of wet and dry (240>1200) then polishing mops then begolm alu or mothers mag polish...

for painting you need nitromorse, wet and dry (240>800) filler primer, top coat colour, lacquer)

for filling in you need either isopon 38 i think or liquid metal. fill sand off smooth then paint with the above process...WORD OF WARNING...you cannot DIY refurbish powdercoated wheels..(unless you are willing to spend loads on chemicals)
