ive done a fare few mods the next step is get all internals and re-bore from jbs and then turbo upgrade = £6000 ish or sell ='( please advise =)

I had a EVO 6 and never again would I touch one it had a forge engine and EVO 9 turbo ya need deep pockets to own one..

I loved all the evos ive owned! And to down grade otherwise id still have one ;) do it! Unless you actually love the leon and can see yourself keeping it forever because throwing that kinda cash at it your allways onto a loss and a big loss at that price.

Or ya could by a EVO that's stock slow and boring with a weak engine..imo i would rather build ya engine ya only got to go rods pistons ect I think 6k is crazy when its a job ya can do ya self..

There's not many Evos around that are slow even in stock trim. The 8s came in 300bhp standard and even then it's quick. As for the weak engines the only weak ones I know of are the 4s and below.

In short get an Evo mate. I was one of the best cars I've ever owned and I should never have sold it. I'll have another one one day.

Second the deep pockets comment. The LCR in a straight line will atleast keep up with an Evo, and IMO a stock tuned 6, isn't great. not for the money to run anyway. You'll never see more than 20mpg even if you drove it like miss daisy. Costly brakes, servicing, 4 tyres each time, and extortionate insurance. I've owned an Evo before, and I'm now on my 2nd LCR. That says alot IMO.

Somehow if hes looking at throwing 6k in power mods at his leon i dont really think he cares about mpg!? Evos arn't slow atall even an evo bloody 2 is fast and no standerd leon mk1 will keep up with an evo. The evo 4 was the weak engine but saying that ive had 2 both in the 300bhp chart both never missed a beat only had ayc problems with the one. There like any performance car they cost money to run and cost a good bit when they go wrong but if looked aftEr then its worth owning one.

sell and buy an evo
i run a seat cupra 150 tdi and an evo6 tme
theres no comparision
ok the seat wins hands down on economy but the evo is just a different class of missile
drive steady and get 25mpg@
drive it like you stole it 8mpg
but in the corners !!!

I was on about his LCR, which by the sounds has a few bits done. IMO he'll end up Spending money on the Evo as in standard trim they are a bit of a let down :( I had one that was 320bhp, drank fuel like it was going out of fashion and they attract trouble in my experience.

Lol that's like saying I run a seat Leon 1.6 SE and an Evo6 there's no comparison !!! ( just exaggerating, think OP has a LCR so it would be a bit different comparison)

My mate had fq360, sold it week later because of mpg, "likes to drive fast tho"

I love to look of the LCR, an wouldn't want anything else but a RS4, so I would keep the Leon, what power you looking at for 6k 350-400bhp, but as said if you sell in the future you will lose alot of money.

Yes I appreciate they would drink it. But, the problem people have, well I had, was it was impossible to get decent MPG when driving slowly. Compared to the LCR, where driven sensibly will see 40mpg. It's not just the fuel costs either, everything is expensive because of the name. And to get a 'quick' Evo you'll need extremely deep pockets.

But if your looking to buy an evo the running costs and service costs you should already know before buying one. Yes if you havnt got deep pockets then dont buy one! But if you do then dont cry about it ;) the other one ive heard is said to people that buy scoobys....mate you shouldve got an evo....lol not really hes bought the scooby because maybe he can afford the cheaper running costs of a scooby compared to an evo. The evo debate could go on forever lol
