Do people still buy the 225bhp Cupra R's?

In the pricey times that we now live in with petrol and insurance prices through the roof do people still look at buying performance cars like the Cupra R? The reason why I ask is Ive had mine for sale now for 2 - 3 weeks with very little intrest. I have had loads of scams wanting to pay for it via paypal and a shipping company collect it......yea rite!

I was wondering if any of you guys can give me some selling tips, am I rite in selling on Auto trader or should I look at other sites? Also where you guys have bought or sold your cars from in the past? Ive even reduced the price by £500 as the insurance is up at the end of the month :(. Ive got a new job and with it comes a shiney new super slow car (serious about 50bhp lol) I am reluctant to get rid but cant really afford to keep it as a weekend car.

Any ideas or advice would be great!

why not get the company to supply you with a new FR or a Cupra if it'll stretch to that soooo much nicer than an insignia or an Avensis;)

Keep the cupra!!!!
I have a daily drive and my Cupra for the weekends. Just keep it - sell it when the markets right and youl be SO bored in a 50bhp car! Mines just 70 lame & weak stallions but always have an insane smile on my face when I jump in the cupra. :D
Yes your insurance is due, but spread out the costs - youl be saving a packet using the company car anyways.

You come explain that to my Wife who wants to use the money for the new kitchen! Trust me ive tried to convince her with no success. Ive had it for 4 years now with 2 small children arrived after the car so its her perfect chance to make me get rid after years of moaning haha

Get a new wife? ;) LOL!!!!

Im blessed that my better half likes my striped out 2 seater cupra - and even asked if id like a bucket seat for xmas! :) score!! on the flip side I do drive her about in the little daily - but that just sips along on fuel rather than taking massive gulps of V power, gargling and then farting it out! LOL!

still, tell your wife, I could sell it now for £4k, or wait a few months and sell it for £7k and get that even better grantie topped kitchen with the slide out built in wine cooler too. then thatll buy you a few more months to come up with a better plan ;)

Recently bought mine via piston heads. Insurance is 760 fully comp 26 yrs old 4 years no claims.
Which I was happy about that's declaring suspension remap and exhaust aswell.
The person I bought it off did mention very little interest over the 2 months he had it up.
Good luck selling yours though.

You're going to find it harder to sell in the general marketplace because it isn't stock.

Boost gauges, induction kits and square number plates make Joe Public walk away.

Autotrader was crap when I sold my Astra Twintop just got a load of scam emails you know "I want to buy car for my brother I'll send money by Paypal as I work in the Arabian Gulf and someone will pick up car" yeah right !!
In the end sold it on desperate seller was really good and I got the price I wanted :)

Would you advise I take all the Mods off?
