I'm thinking of having an uprated dog bone mount fitted on my lcr as iv heard a fair bit about how it combats wheel hop on remapped lcrs, my question is where is the dog bone mount situated, where can I get it, how much does it cost and how long does it take to fit on an lcr ?

Many thanks.

It's under your car, very easy to get to and replace..... looks like...... you guessed it.... a dog bone lol!

Connects the engine to the chassis? (please correct me if i'm wrong folks)

For cost i would check out Awesome Gti, easy peasy to fit, i imagine 30 minutes tops (with preparation included). I did mine with the other 2 engine mounts so i kind of lost track of time.

Definately a worthwhile investment in my opinion, no wheel hop at all on my LC now. :)

There might even be a thread on here about fitting/location, give it a search if you like mate.

If you jack the front of your car up on one side, and stick your head underneath, you can see what you're looking for. It's in the middle of the car, and it goes from the bottom back of the engine to the chassis. From what I saw there are four bolts holding it in place, two for the engine and two for the chassis. I asked someone about whether you need to support the engine and they confirmed 'no', so it's simply unbolt the old one and put the new one in.

I'd say half an hour tops, if the bolts come out nicely then it might only need ten minutes. I'd also recommend Awesome GTI as they have very good prices on Powerflex kit.

get the THS one from what ive red all the others give cabin vibration

you dont need to suprt the engine but best to get a jack in there to hold the engine so whrn you take it of it doesnt mover or youll have to pull it back in line ;)

Im using the ths dogbone mount, on a mapped car its a must, instantly feels better, car stays much flater when booting it, also no vibrations what so ever, infact id say less vibrations than oem. For the sake of £50 its a bargin :)

what ever you do, DONT get the Density line mounts! you can get them in 2 different hardnesses: street density or track density, this is what i bought:
street density engine mount (cambelt side)
street density gearbox mount (gearbox side)
track density dogbone
track density strut mounts

even the track density dogbone is softer then a 9 year old OEM dogbone.
all of them is poor quality, the dogbone where on my car for not more then 45min, then off and the old OEM dogbone on the car again, and after a year, all of the other mount ar off the car, back to OEM...

now i have both powerflex bush in the dogbone, and LCR strut mounts.

the big end, yellow bush is easy to do :D
the small end, blue/purple bush not so easy
