Don't try and retro fit Cruise control yet!

HAve seen a few threads on this and people have mentioned that the wiring is the same as a Fabia.

It appears the this is seen as a simple mod turned on by VAG-COM.

However, AMD were fiting mine when they sorted my CAT ( half price as compensation for revisit). Well they started on the cruise at 1pm which was meant to be a 2 hour job at most.

They eventualy gave up at 9pm on Friday night as for some reason the stalk will not talk to the ECU for love nor money. They were scratching their heads all night and stayed 3 hours extra to try and sort it. But now have gone back to the wiring diagrams to get it to work. Top side is they will fit my boost gauges as part of the comp for not getting it done right. Fair play though they kept going, and there was a nice blood mark on the dash to show they were putting in the effort.

Will let you know how and when sorted.

I have done cruise control on the Fabia quite a few times. Not 100% sure if the Ibiza is the same though. The tricky bit is unlike the Leon etc where the wiring goes to the engine ecu the wiring on the Ibiza goes to the central electrics ecu with only one wire to the engine ecu (on the diesels anyhow).

If it's a petrol then there is an extra wire needed that goes to one of the ecu's that is not needed on a derv

I had this issue 3 years ago when my local dealer retrofitted my cruise ( 11 days and 1 extra wire later it was working)
