Drivers wing mirror foldable?

hello all

the passenger wing mirror on my gf's mk 4 ibiza folds (manually) but the drivers side doesnt seem to want to budge?

does anyone know if its just the one side that folds or do you think the previous owner has glued the drivers one or soemthing?

I think mine is the same but not sure if its the other way round will have to give it a check later. would also like to know if the mirror is fudged or whether its just doesnt move.

ahh so its not just me then!

i was pushing it a bit hard on the weekend and the whole door skin was bending all over the place so its either well and truly glued on or it was never ment to move

they are very stiff but they do go in, i must admit external things on the ibiza are stiff as hell (especially the rear lights)

i wondered the same thing when mine seemed solid but thought surely it must move somehow as the passenger side folded fine,eventually moved after a lot of effort and
dont think it had been folded since new

checked mine at dinner drivers side folds fine passenger side wont budge, looks like wd40 at somepoint soon although if found a rear bumper then the mirrors would be getting sprayed so the garage could piss about with it

mines an 03 and i dont think mine had been moved too, gave it a fairly hard push and thankfully did move. so much easier for changing the mirror covers

mines 02 plate aswell, only the passenger side one seems like it wants to move, i darent push the drivers side mirror incase it snaps off lol.

same problem! i thought it had been replaced by previous owner and it was not an original part...will give it some wd40 to free it up.

My "57" FS mirrors fold no probs.. What may have happened is if you have an older model and the mirrors have not been folded reg' is the hinge/mechanism may have seized/Rusted slightly... I would remove the mirror from the door, STRIP & CLEAN!!!

i got mine to be foldable...lots of gt85 and a liberal helping of swearing and the thing slides like a well oiled mirror!

mine folds fine after half a bottle of wd40 and many tugs.then gave the car a good wash and polish
