DTUK tuning box

Called into DTUK yesterday...as above I'm running a CRDT+ and have recently been thinking about getting a pedal box too, so called into DTUK as I was in the area anyway. Sound set of lads, and very helpful / informative. They scanned my box and after chatting about running on Map 2, +3 and the other various maps and settings they agreed to remove Map 3 from the box (I found that the poorest of the 3) and put a modified Map 2 plot with a slightly different torque / boost curve on in place of Map 3 and set me to +2 and sent me on my way to test! Great stuff!! And wow, still punchy but pulls strong from 1500 - red line now where as before it seemed to die off after 4K, on old Map 2 +3. It also seems to have cured the 'blip / surge' I've had since installing th box and running on any setting, however I'm almost certain this used to happen prior to the box anyway just not as noticeable...

All in all with this new Map 2, on +2 it's the best it's ever been! Very impressed with the service and expertise of DTUK and it won't be the last time I use one of there boxes! Happy days!

Thumbs up from me DTUK!!

Apparently the pedal box - for those interested is similar to having the car in Eco then changing to Sport in terms of throttle response, so with it installed its like going from Sport to something better again...pretty much their way of describing it, so quite fancy one of these in the near future too...

The car is going in for its 2nd year service tomorrow morning so I have just removed the DTUK box and my Pipercross air filter and then checked for fault codes, and the box hasn't left any

Aye they don't mate. I asked about this. Only if the car recognises that the rail or boost sensors have been unplugged, that's what leaves the codes. If installed / uninstalled correctly no faults should appear. However, during use if the car goes into limp mode / flashing coil light, then this will leave a code...

First time I connected mine it flashed coil light/ limp mode (set high by mistake)l, so wondering is there anyone on here from Northern Ireland who could clear any codes for me left?

I've had the box for 2 years now and this is the first time it hasn't left a boost sensor code

Well been running map 2+1 for a few days and this is the first day i've had it on 2+2.
So far so good, no flashing lights, and no blue ones behind me yet either :p

2+2 is a really good map, It's really weird because it drives so smoothly but with a load of extra go it's almost feels stock if that makes sense? Does everyone feel like this?

I imagine taking the box off and plugging in the bypass thing would make me realise just how tame/lame it was before.

I will have a go with 1+2 to check out how that performs on mine. Perhaps there's a big difference between that and 1+1

I'm taking delivery of my CRD3+ box tomorrow for my stock/standard 2015 184 FR. What map would you recommend I use?

Try all 3 on +1 and maybe +2 most people settle for either of them on +1. +2 might be a bit too high for the car and you will get a flashing coil light after a while which tells you its too much. Having said that, every car is different and a few guys on here are running +2 without issue

Good Morning boys and girls just a little report on my crd+3 box well I have run the box on various map settings for many miles and keep putting it back to p1+2 and had no real problems well yesterday I was on a run to derby to a customers and bingo coil light came on car went into limp mode switched off back on light off then 3 mile later back again got to customers and called simon at dtuk great chaps he said because the weather as warmed up its to much and looked at my settings they installed on my box he advised I should run at no more than p2+1,2 or p3 1.2 so changed no coil light back on runs well shame about p1+2 as I love that setting pulls like a demented dentist on that setting fun fun car is 150tdi manual

I have changed to 1+2, so far running OK, but based on what Garry reporst, it might be close to the limit of what the engine likes.

@Garry_H - do you have a special map 1?

I wonder if there is a difference here between 150 and 184? I've been on 2+2 on my 184 for a while now, without any problems. Hoping luck is with me, as I find 2+2 the right one' on my car.

I have also been running 2+2 for quite a while without any indication of problems, but as I have read Garrys good experience with 1+2 I thought I might try that out as well.

It will be different between 150 and 184. The biggest issue is tho, that not all 150s run the same stock power and likewise with the 184. So what you will find is that not everyone will fell the same things on the same settings and some cars can run higher settings than others.

Hi boys quite right about different settings some cars will some wont this morning run it on p3+2 seems fine on that its strange as I did run car on p1+2 for weeks with no problems also experienced judder on p3+2 but clears when i cog it down to 5 gear from 6 i am hoping this is not going to be on a reg basis as this may spoil the extra grunt i am getting from the box and may remove it

What revs are you feeling the judder?

6th is way too long to deal with the torque at that rpm imo.

Easiest thing to do is drop a cog and dont labour the engine as much ;-))
