I fitted a dynatwist and forge 007p today, but i'm getting lag in 2nd gear.

I've left the heat shield off as i can't get the cold air feed to fit as i have it coming from the front grille between the headlights.

Where has everyone else fitted their cold air feed with the dynatwist?

Does having the heat shield off make a big difference?

Whats causing my lag? It was fine before fitting the dynatwist and 007p.

Cheers, Tom

My air feed pipe just goes straight down and sits at the bottom of the front bumper... I havent had any problems with it and i have my heat shield on..

Does having the heat shield on effect DV noise? I’ve got a nice ‘quiet’ but noticeable sound at the moment and don’t want to lose it really. I currently have the shield off.

Also, do you simply ‘hang’ the air feed directly down beneath the dyna-twist or have you fixed it into a position?

Cheers, Tom

tom,

coming up to the summer you need the heatshield, otherwise will start to heat soak to quick from high under bonnet temps, as the standard intercooler will struggle as well causin loss in power

keep the heat shield on, run the air feed down the wing so pointing to the floor and have it just short of the bottom of the bumper, make sure its a good foot from the ground so not suckin up any water ect if go through a puddle

and thats it

I fitted the ducting through the gap in the wing, and utilised the foam in the wing that holds the standard duct pipe.
I just removed it, and trimmed it so that the Dynatwist pipe fitted through the middle, secured it high in the wing. To avoid it getting caught and ripped off. IIRC Bill advises that there is a high pressure in the wing, so the air filter doesn't need to be forward facing, therefore forcing air into the filter.

You getta a louder sound with the shield off the air filter.

I've had mine with the shield off, the shield on and the ducting dropped to the bottom of the front wing, and with the ducting into the OEM position into the wing facing backwards, and by far the best performing and sounding IMO is the latter. I get a nice grunt, whistle and whoosh with it. :)

Well i've just fitted the shield and put the ducting down the wing so it sits just behing the front bumper facing downwards. How do i get it facing backwards? I'm unsure of the OEM position as r1cky was fitting it as i was fiddling with his.

original air box only has a very small air feed pipe and it faces backwards towards the passenger door, a bit pointless! its best to have it like youve got it now towards the front bumper.
