They advertise 36 miles on a charge, but one wonders if they determined that on a flat test track or in a laboratory. As I have never ever achieved it in the 6-months I've had my Seat Leon eI-Hybrid. When I charge it only occasionally got to '30' miles range, however on day to day driving going up even a modest hill would see the battery drop like a stone. I live 6.5 miles away from work, so a 12-13 mile round journey. In the summer with careful driving I can do this twice (if I'm lucky), however in the winter - it charges less 23-28 miles and if I get to work and back on a charge ten that is about it.

An excellent idea, but the battery range is too low and you do spend your life charging it.
Yes, they calculate those numbers in ideal circumstances, maybe following one of the electric range standards.

Just like mpgs, those numbers are usually not reachable.

How do the service prompts work on hybrids

Cause in theory you could rack up 10k miles on pure electric

But then the car pops up oil service or is it more intelligent than that.

Does it only take the miles from the oil service when on ICE.

When I picked my 245 up in late October, the weather was mild and it was showing 30 to 32 miles of range.....
In this cold weather it shows 25.
So I'm summer I'm expecting a pretty easy 35.
More than enough for my commute and running around every day (25 is to be honest)
It's saved me a small fortune in fuel already.
I've got into the habit of banging it on charge every evening.

Overall petrol use is 85 mpg over 10 weeks.

Today i charged my Formentor e-Hybrid 245 and after showing 100% full it only give me ~24 miles (38km) for driving electic.
This is far from the ~36 miles (58km) they advertise.
Does anyone has the same or would I have a battery issue?
Much the same here, took delivery of my e-Hybrid 204 last Friday and never shows more than 25 miles on electric when fully charged (although also never seems to charge to 100%, only to 96-97%).

Obviously we're in the colder months so was expecting a drop from the advertised 36 miles but still a bit disappointing.

And that's before driving it, I'm taking it easy but probably still only getting 21-22 miles on electric.

One thing that will help in colder weather is to preheat your car before your journey. It will warm up the cabin in winter/ cool the cabin in summer and will help warm up the battery to improve efficiency, as batteries hate cold weather.

34 miles showing today and it's losing 1 mile per mile so it looks like a spot on figure (outside temp 15 degrees)

Has anyone realised since having the latest update dealer install on a full charge it never reads more than 30 Miles. I think i read a similar post somewhere that cupra have restricted the battery due to the fire Hazard and once recall has been conducted there will he another software update to increase the batteey again.

I have noticed I would normally get between 37 and 41 miles on journeys full electric now 30 bang on every time.

I installed the over the air update version of 1896 (a896) and it hadn't effected my battery range..if anything it's got better (34 showing this morning...vz1 245,always using heating and air con)

Just as with petrol usage the figures presented are (1) based on test track conditions ie: totally flat and in Barcelona (2) extracted to maximise sales. They bear limited connection to real world conditions. My 100% ranges from 36 to 24, and seems almost entirely dependent on weather - UK winter is hardly extreme but can cut mileage by 50%, at all times it’s entirely based on hills. The more hills on route the quicker the battery drains!

I'm getting 50 km (31 miles) real electric range in the current warm weather. Primarily urban driving, flat country, not many stops - optimal conditions basically.
The car estimates 50-55 km pr charge so also quite accurate.

Interestingly, the useable battery capacity in my case is around 10.5-11 kWh, based on what the charging stations say that I have charged when completely flat. I believe the net capacity is supposed to be 12.5 kWh, so maybe they did restrict it with the recent update, due to the recalls?

How do you stop the only charging to 50% when I have a departure time set some time in the future but want to use the car ad hoc before then?

For example, I have 8:00 am set as departure time on Mondays and a Thursdays, but I want to use the car over the weekend but it only charges to 50% unless I go onto the app and set it to continue.

I think there is a box that need to be ticked says charge to only 50% Our car charges 100% every night
girlfriend drives just electric backward and forwards to work the other day she called me to say how to open fuel cap. I said when did you fill it up last turns out I filled it up in November so tank fuel has lasted over 6 months

Can you recall where? There is a slider to vary the percentage to charge to, but it’s a maximum of 50%. If you have a departure time set for some time in the future the car will only charge to 50% until just before the set departure time when it will then finish the charge to 100%.

I had a look earlier and i could not work it out i moved to slider up and down to increase and decrease percentage. Our car charges over night and always charges to 100% i think i have used the charge now button when using public charging and that has always seemed to work too.

If no one else pop up with the solution I will try and have another mess around to see if i can find it !

Set a Departure Time in the car or on the app for a couple of days time, then it’ll only charge to what’s set on the slider (50% max).

if you can find a way to get it to charge to 100% with a future departure time set (I.e. in a couple of days time) then you’ve cracked it!

Putting the slider to 0% (as someone suggested a few weeks ago, but I can't find the post) just means it sits there doing nothing until it will charge 100% immediately before the next departure time (which may be days away).

This did cause a bit of an issue when I activated a departure time, plugged the car in at work and the car wouldn't charge. I'd forgotten I'd set the slider to 0% a few weeks ago....
