P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He cleared the codes and off I went, knowing I would need to get it changed.

Around two weeks later the light came on again as expected so I started looking to buy the parts.

But strangely after a week the light went off again and has been off for about three weeks now!

I have not had a chance to vagcom it again so was wondering if there's any reason it would go off and stay off?

Im starting to think the bulb has blown lol :p

I have the same issue with my Cat at the moment. It appears to only come on when it's reading values that it doesn't expect, then when it's happy with them, off it goes. I have no idea what issues you have, is one MAF failure? Maybe your MAF is on it's way out and sometimes works, sometimes doesn't so sometimes it pleases the ECU, other time not?

Is the car running ok? I helped a friend with his mk4 golf recently. he had the EML light on and vag com brought up a fault with the oxygen sensor. I cleared it and its not returned. It's been over a month.

The cold weather can have bad effects on sensors and electrical connections.

Ive got a feeling the MAF is on the way out, and thats what Jamie suggested when we first read the codes. I have been looking into getting a replacement, the only problem is im barely affording the petrol at the moment :(

Its seems to be running ok, can be a bit lumpy and jolty when cold, but once warmed up its fine.

I was quite dissapointed I only managed a 14.9 at santa pod recently, was hoping for around the 14.0 sec mark with the 270bhp ive been told i should be running.

Could a dodgey MAF affect performace this much?

Thanks for the input guys.
