Utter nonsense. Hydrogen gas at atmospheric pressure will not have any chemical reaction capable of stripping carbon deposits.... It will not shift ANYTHING from the intake, head, valves etc.....

The claims they give and the before and after picture are all fake..... Call them out on their claims publically on social media and they block you....

Utter nonsense in the same way terraclean and other miracle cures are...

Thanks mate! Money saved then. £100 for 30 mins cleaning seems like a scam anyway.

Is there any products out there that do work?

Sea foam will work to a degree but my issue with these is that they rely on the engine consuming the 'muck' and it making its way out through the turbo...

Not a fan!

Glad I saw this... was looking at Carbon Clean (having previously looked at Terraclean but couldn't find one close enough). I wanted summat to clean the EGR without removing it. The cheapest I've seen for a garage to remove and *Scrub* it is £240.

my neighbour has had his 2 cars done (VW corrado and VW touran) and said they feel miles better the only downside is all the **** thats in the engine has been dumped in his oil so effectively going back into the engine and it'll be deja vu in 12/18 months IMO :(

I had a terraclean done a few years back.

It did seem to help initially however, I don't think it did a great deal.

Certainly wouldn't have it done again.

My engine had 70.000 miles in it (2.0 TFSI CDLA) and when we changed the injectors, we realised how severe the carbon build up on the intake valves were, so I was trying to find a solution for it.
I went with the walnut blasting solution in the end, and the result is night and day. Garage has filmed the before and after conditions with panning the camera from my license plate to the open intakes - so either they are pro in editing a video or they have done an excellent job :D.
The best thing about this version is that no dirt or chemical goes into the combustion chamber and the turbo or catalytic converter.
I can highly recommend this option, if it is available in your region.

It is available, and a proper strip and clean is the only way. We do have walnut/media blasting but a manual clean can be just as good.

These terraclean, carbon clean and the rest of them are utter nonsense. At best they do the same job as a tin of decent injector cleaner

Yes, I would feel very inconvenient, if I knew that all the scum that were on my valves were going through the chamber, turbo and catalytic converter and even get into the oil.

I tried the injector cleaner fluid through the tank before the swapping of my injectors, but that didn't solve my misfire issues at idle. :D
However, it gave an extra power, as it slightly raised the octane

Hmm. Theres a couple of places local to me that do Walnut blasting. Trub is, you know how when it ain't broke don't fix it? I'm coming up to 40k now... and done a lot of short journeys and supermarket fuel before I knew any better. I wonder how accurate some of these before pictures are vs marketing to scare people like me into paying £100s to have it done.

I'm Heading for 56k now and I also used supermarket fuel before I was shown in person why I shouldn't use it. Any help to improve the engine is a bonus, however everything I've seen since I created the thread has told me to stay away from carbon cleaners, Especially if there's a machine involved haha

Well, a few months back the performance on my car was so crippled I could just push the accelerator straight to the floor and wait. A combination of vpower and forte have really restored it. But of course they only clean the fuel system. So now I'm left wondering the state of the EGR especially as i sometimes get hiccups under moderate acceleration.

As a side note, when I got my car mapped the first time, it was on supermarket diesel and I dyno'd at 206bhp. I fell for the marketing and getting it remapped the 2nd time had vpower and millers eco boost in the tank. Scored 204bhp. I've since dumped the ecoboost, but kept the vpower for the cleaning agents.

I use Vpower all the time now, bit expensive but it's worth it. The engine deserves the best and the only fuel stations near me are Shell and BP, BP's diesel has 7% biodiesel in it and according to my fuel cap that's not to be used so it's Shell all the time for me :).

A mate of mine just recently got his A4 TDI cleaned, EGR and DPF etc and it cost £870 so I think I'll save up for that
