engine management light came flashing on and no turbo power.

Got a 2004 LCR, driving it home tonight, admittedly I was giving it some, and all of a sudden the engine management light came flashing on and there was no turbo power. The light then went back off again, but as soon as I accelerated again any higher than around 2-3k revs the light come back on again. Stopped when I got home, the car is lumpy as anything and there was a funny smell, but not smoking.

Hope this has happened to someone else, any ideas would be helpful

Could be so many things mate, you need to get it diagnosed asap.

Either take it to a good independant or get it scanned with vag com.

Initial basic checks - all hoses present and correct, none popped off - check intercooler hoses and turbo hoses.

Check coilpacks are seated properly - one could still be faulty tho. As mentioned - Diagnosis via VAG-COM is easiest.

I got exactly same prob pal i put my vag com on an its 16684 random misfire(coil pack).
sounds like a tractor and no power!!

mine done this couple of mnths ago, and it was my coil pack that was away, two mins to change and i was off again

Took it in today, Yep coilpack, £45 later and its all gravy, cheers for the help.
Found more problems, but thats another story....
