Engine management light

Hi all

just a quickie,had a coil pack go yesterday (2002 V5,20v),banged a new one in today,but still have management warning light on even though car is now running perfectley,any ideas how to get rid of warning light or may this mean something still wrong??

If you're anywhere near Birmingham I can read the codes for you if you'd like, have an OBDII reader.

The engine management light means that a fault code as been logged i.e. a missfire and it may not be an ongoing problem. Sometimes it clears itself after 3 clean starts, other times it needs to be 'reset' using the appropriate tool.

If you are not happy driving distance with it lit then find your local VW specialist as they will have the tools to reset it (and pull any codes that might be causing it).

They were pretty good with me for resets before i got VAGcom for myself...

Thanks everyone for your replies,i hadnt realised it needed a reset,just thought poss battery disconnect or simalar might do it!
Started talking to a neighbour about it and he had vag com still on his laptop from when he had a prevoius car -problem solved
