Hi guys just a quick question for you people in the know.
I have had a bran new engine installed in my car due to the other one having a fault with the valves, the piston hit the bottom of the valve and disentergated (sp), i am due to pick it up tom after the mechanic put the clutch in the wrong way round
So really what im asking is, i know every engine have it's own serial number, but can you have duplicate engines that seat would keep in stock (unlikely i know), as i have a funny feeling that they may of just rebuilt the engine instead and tried to say its a new engine!!
So, if its a new engine will it be a new engine number that i would have to register with the DVLA
Or
Would it be the same code and the dealer may of swapped over the serial numbers etc etc
Knowledge here would be grateful
Many thank's
Rob
