EPC and engine management light?!?!

Hey all!

As i was drivin to work this morning the epc and engine management light came on? i know the epc is to do with the accelerator etc but was wondering if any1 could give me any info on some pre checks (to possibly cure it!!) before i call the main dealer?

Hmm, have performed a quick search on the forums here and sounds like it could be as trivial as a faulty/dirty sensor, or as major as an engine/mechanical failure.

Think with such a warning light coming on, might be worth taking it to a Seat garage as soon as possible and getting them to provide a proper diagnosis for peace of mind!?

Could it also still be covered under warranty?

Yes, well if your car was still driving normally AFTER the light(s) came on, also with no strange noises, hopefully just a false alarm! All the best.

BTW, like the car colour - Eclipse Blue?

oh forgot to say the car drives no different and with no noises! my pockets not as worried anymore..

If you know anyone locally with vag-com they should be able to read a fault code off for you, just so you know what it was. Post a request in the vag-com forum on here and see if anyone is willing to help.

PS My Ibiza was Eclipse Blue too, nice choice

Cheers! just called the main dealer to check the price of a systems check and they quoted me £55!!! should wear a mask and a stripy jumper!
