Hi, hoping this is an easy fix. My Seat Leon 1.6tdi has suddenly developed an error with all of the external lights (no other electrical faults). Basically
- Left main beam working/ right not
- Right side light working/ left is not
- Left front indicator working/ right not
- Right back indicator working/ left not
- one of the side indicators is not working
- rear (red) lights - boot working on left not right/ outer light the opposite (working on right not left)
- error messages galore

Not really used the car much recently and definitely not touched the electrics/ bulbs

Help!

thanks

Hope it is not this... has anyone heard of this in Leons?

Have you checked the fuses? I use a multimeter to test continuity on the fuses, sometimes a fuse looks ok, but is still actually blown.

Just been under the bonnet and removed/ reinserted the same fused. Seems to have cleared the issue. Think I will find out which one is the lights and replace that one just in case.

Had the same issue some time ago, for me switching the fuses did the trick
What do you mean switching?

This is happening to my 2011 leon 1.4 Tsi.
Driving me nuts. Any ideas.

Would it be a ground issue. Read alot it coudo be.

I have random lights working, indicators flickering.
All fuses seem OK to me.

Any ideas.

Have you checked under the 30amp fuses for any evidence of melting? That's what used to be an issue previously.

Gave it a bang and wd40 seems to be stable atm. Defo a grounding issue
Is it just one specific cluster then, rather than all around different parts of the car like the OP?

Not over familiar with the MK2 wiring, but usually ground faults would only affect one specific cluster at a time. If it's mulitple clusters then seems more likely it's a power feed issue, as manufacturers usually split the circuits front/rear, left/right etc, so if the fuse blows you always have one light back and front, and one on the left/right for safety.
