Excuse my ignorance

Just bought a 225 on Saturday and havn't had a chance to read up on it.

When I open the car with the key fob I can only open the drivers door? The only way i can open the other doors is if I press the key button on the drivers door.
Is this normal?

Might be selective locking, press the unlock key twice and see if the rest open on the second press.

Press the unlock button on the key once to unlock the driver's door, press it twice to unlock all the doors The boot will lock itself if you don't open it within a certain time, 30 seconds I think...

The anti-hijack thing locks the doors when you go over 10mph too, so you'll have to press the button on the driver's door to let someone in... to let someone out, you could press the button on the driver's door or they can pull the handle twice to let themselves out

UNLOCKING...

1 click opens drivers door
2 clicks opens all doors and boot


LOCKING...

1 click deadlocks car
2 clicks removes the deadlocks

locking at 10mph is a good feature but is annoying when passengers try to wrench the interior door handle off, instead of doing it twice! goldfish memories the lot of 'em!

MK2 Leon has fixed this problem thankfully - one pull will open the door whether locked or not

Firstly, congrats on the car front. Good choice

The locking on the car is a bit funny to start of with, but you'll soon get used to it.
Whats even more annoying is when you stop to drop someone off and they try take your handle off to get out!

You can go to seat and they will programme your key fob to unlock all the doors with just one press of the button. its what i done.

Tried last night to press it twice to open all the doors but didn't seem to work?

dont press it twice too quickly...but not too slow either.. lol

you may also find if you press unlock and then dont open any doors, it locks itself after a while.
if a door ot boot is opend then it wont auto lock.

i only know how it works cos i had stu (stuart86) with me when i bought the car!! get a sign made up to go on the glovebox lid to remind passengers not to try and rip your handles when they try to get out, gets annoying after a while!
