another recommendation for autosol....using it since the 70's(!). It may be ever so slightly abrasive, but I think you'll find most are. Besides which I don't think there will be a danger of wearing out your exhaust through polishing....

Meguiars Metal Polysh and some 000 gauge wire wool should do the trick.

I finally got around to polishing my exhaust today using the Meg's stuff. Some parts came up really, really well. But some of the more stubborn black marks wouldn't shift. Might try some Autosol if it's more abrasive and then some Meg's to remove any marks and give it a nice shiny finish again.
