Hi Nick100,

Would you be able to take a few pics of the sunroof with the blind back and then the roof fully open.. I couldn't find any decent pics of how big the sunroof is or how it looks from the inside but ordered it anyway :D

Just a shame i have to wait until late November for mine to arrive! :(

Thx

Here you go.

I have gone for the sunroof and it is because I like the fresh air without it blasting in your face. I also like the light it lets into the cabin.

I can see the smokers reason and hadn't considered the light option.

When I had one a long time ago it was solid, not glass.

Here in sunny Spain they are pretty rare but then so are convertibles - it's too hot! If you do see one it's usually being driven by a Northern European!

I would add during the summer it is good to just leave it open on tilt in the company car park to avoid it turning into an oven. I know people leave windows down a little for the same effect but in the UK it has a habit of suddenly lashing it down and the sunroof on tilt tends to stop the downpour from getting in the car :)

Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum but have been following this thread with interest. Glad to see that many of you have now received your lovely new cars and enjoying them :D
It's now my turn to wait patiently as I only just placed my order last week and am waiting for a build date as it's a factory order. Dealer reckons I should hopefully get it by end December- it's gonna be a long couple of months!!

Same reason here, last had a sunroof on my old Ibiza 16V GTI about 15 years ago and missed having it ever since. Air conditioning is great especially when its roasting, but its nice to have the fresh air option too without having the windows open and the natural light in the cabin rain or shine is always good.

Last few cars I've bought its either not been an option or I've compromised for a quicker delivery.

Decided I wanted a sunroof fitted to my FR SC this time even if I had to wait. Plus as I'm going for a Nevada white FR, the sunroof really contrasts well on the roof against the white.

Looks good, will look even better once they've prepared it. :)

Had my build date through, due to commence Wk45, so that's next week.

Looking promising for a late November early December arrival. :santa:

Yer, I wanted to get a proper look at it but ended up missing my turn on the way there and getting lost, so by the time I arrived it was almost dark. :(

Nope your correct I read my calendar wrong, but I kind of wasn't counting this week as its almost over. Week 45 commences from 4th Nov. But my dealer has said they expect it will be a late Nov delivery based on its production week.

Hi all, first post on here! My friend and I took delivery of our FR's today, both in white, a 5 door and an SC. Only 1 letter difference in the reg plates hahaha. Once I get my posts up I'll get a pic up

According to my calendar next week is wk44.

Does SEAT use a different system - I hope so as mine is due for delivery wk45

Hi Guys, can I ask when you placed your orders please so I can try and work out the approx lead time before I get alloted a build week, not that I am getting impatient or anything! Lol

Here's the timeline for mine, from what I recall.

12th July : Order Placed at dealer (late on a Friday).

So, lets say it enters the SEAT system on 15th July.

15th July: Order in system
24th July: Unconfirmed build date = week 38 (16th September)
7th August: Build date now week 39 (23rd September)
23rd September: Build Week :)
07th October : Vehicle 'in transit'
08th October : Vehicle at dealers
16th October : Picked up

I know from the other posts on here that mine was built sometime between 23SEP and 26SEP, as it went from the factory straight onto the 'La Surprise' ship, which I think left the port on the Friday (27SEP, and landed in the UK a week later (05OCT).

Give or take a few days, it was almost bang on 3 months from order to pickup. Although the factory was shut for two weeks in August, so that may have delayed the build week.
