Expected Delivery?

Morning all,
Ordered my New Leon last week - is there a standard delivery window that they expect to meet? The dealer has told me 8 weeks. Any insight would be awesome!

Thanks

Hi Vita and welcome. It seems like 8-9 weeks is the typical lead time from time of order to delivery of vehicle which a few other members have experienced. The only noticeable delay is if you order the sunroof which seems to add a bit of time. I placed an order a week before you and still am waitng for a build week. We could end up getting our cars built at the similar time if you didn't spec the sunroof :) What spec did you go for in the end?

The dealer still doesn't have the slightest idea where my car eventually is... This is just ridiculous. I can track some iPhone cables sent from china sellers in eBay with free postage and not a car sent from one EU country to another :( I should have bought an Alfa Romeo Giilietta two months ago. It was in stock and could have picked it up the same day. It felt great on the test drive, looks more sexy than the Leon. And reding all the rants about rattles with the new Leons seems the infamous build quality of the Alfa wouldn't be worse than the SEAT.

Sorry for the rant, it's do depressing to wait :)

Just as GTunney recommeded, give SEAT Customer Services a call. Just need your Order number and they should be able to help you. What build week did your dealer tell you it was going to get built, if you spec'd the sun roof there could be a delay with it?

I was told my car will be built in week 40 and the dealer says it is already built since he is already seeing its chassis number. And nothing else. I guess SEAT CS can check it by order number and/or chassis number and give me some status then. What's their phone number?

Went for 1.2 TSI DSG Apollo Blue - 17" Alloys, Seat Sound, Tinted Windows and Dual Climate Controll! In the same position as you waiting for the build date from the dealer. Have chased today, just hoping that it comes before Xmas but I have a feeling it will be the new year.....they did tell me at order that they would expect it Mid December but cant confirm untli they get the build date......

Hey CyberGene, sorry I assumed you was in UK, so UK CS number wont be of use for you?! :)
You're right that the car must be built as the dealer has a chassis. I have searched online and found this contact for Bulgaria, hope this helps you:

Fax (02) 439 01 48

Those are the guys I am talking to and they have no clue :D but they are actually a subsidiary of SEAT Greece. I can give the UK CS a try with my order number anyway. I won't care if they send me about my business ;)

Cool Spec, I like that blue too and was thinking about it along with the grey. I ended up going for the 184ps TDI FR in new Technic Grey, 18" Performance alloys, Seat Sound, Convenience Pack, Winter Pack & LED Interior Lights.

It would be great to get it before Xmas, however for me it would be better to get the car before mid Dec as that's when I need to get MOT and service for my current car.
I too have chased my delaer but now response as yet.

Holds true for my country as well ;) The dealer finally told me my 40 week car will be loaded on a ship and leave Barcelona today. No ship name though... :( Expected to arrive in Athens, Greece in a week and then finally to me in Sofia, Bulgaria few days later. Still something. I've got also the chassis number and am wondering if I should try the Seat CS UK for the ship name or they will send me about my business :D

Glad to hear that you have been given an update :)

Not sure if SEAT UK CS will be able to help but other members talked about using this website to track ship info:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/
Maybe the site might allow you to search for ship's bound for a specific destination?

Wow nice one mate, I still haven't heard from my dealer yet about any build week yet. So build week 48 is w/c 25th November so if all goes to plan there could be a chance you might be lucky and get a very nice Xmas pressie to unwrap this year! :D

I really hope so!! Have been reading through some of the older posts and 7 weeks from order to delivery has been achieved!! Fibgers crossed!! I have been chasing my dealer everyday since I ordered - I reckon if the bulid week gest pushed back wont see it until the new year - will have to wait and see!

Just had an email from the garage, the car has just left Barcelona and will be available to collect next week. Ordered on the 30th September but being located in Spain there is no lengthy boat trip involved.

Well, after what seemed like an age (but was only 10 weeks) I collected my apollo blue Leon SC FR 1.4TSI today and have been for a quick spin in it this afternoon and I'm pleased to say it's brilliant!

Pictures to follow later, I'm off to play with the radio...
