320i24v - what date did you order your car?

Mine's also a week 10 build and was ordered 4th Feb. Not sure if that means early or late week 10 build.

Would be soooo frustrating to miss the boat!

My car that arrived at Sheerness on the 26th is still no nearer my dealer. I'm friggin fuming that its only gone from one compound to another and now Seat say it might go out to the dealer next week.
Seat CS are a complete bunch of ****wits who can't tell me anything constructive.
The car was meant to be delivered for the 1st March having been ordered mid Nov FFS. Pissed off in the extreme.

I can see why you would be frustrated Tardis.
Have CS or the dealer been able to give a reason why your order has taken this long or is this timescale the true story in most cases? Have you gone for something out of the ordinary which has caused the delay?
I was initially told 10 to 12 weeks from ordering meaning mid to late April after ordering on the 2nd Feb.
Hopefully the dealer will get the car ready quick once it arrives.

Brucie - I have ordered the car on the 24st of January 2014, but I do not think that my car will come by boat as I don't live in the UK. So, most probably it will arrive by trailer.
I have absolutely no idea about the transport as the dealer told me that the car had received a VIN number and it is soon to be given to the transporter and told me that I should wait another 3 painfully slow weeks until it arrives.

I think it safe to say that the delivery process to the UK is a bit broken at the moment. I'd describe it a bit differently, but I would probably get banned.
None of the last four ships to make a delivery to the UK has made it back to Barcelona, and three of them are loitering off the Algerian coast. Even if one of them gets to berth in the next hour or so I can't see a new shipment arriving for at least another 10 days unless the shipper does something radical.

Not good...
After reading Expatals last posting I started looking at the 3 (or 4) ships on the trackers and have become obsessed with regularly watching them and trying to predict which of them my car will eventually end up on and when. The wife just laughs at me now.
I emailed the dealer yesterday and was told I am still on track for Build Week 11 (next week) and that they should receive the car Mid April.
Only ordered on the 2nd Feb and I am already chewing fingers with anticipation.

Thants good news Scott.
Would be interested if you could update us on which day it ships now baring in mind the recent delays with the boats.

At least the dates are now credible as ships are now (finally) moving at Mostaganem, and La Surprise has berthed.

I just wonder how many cars are sitting dockside waiting for a ship. I suspect there will be more than a shipload.

I have constructively used my time to decode my salesman's line in vague and inaccurate assurances.

The term 'Your car has been built' means 'Your car has a build date' and 'Your car is bobbing on the ocean' actually means 'Your car is sitting on the Barcelona docks'

After getting the same mixed messages from my dealer I thought I would take matters into my own hands.

I called Seat HQ on 0500 222 222 (Option 4)
I spoke to Gabrielle who was very helpful.

She spoke to the relevant dept who said that my veh is sat in Barcelona and has been built for 15 days.

She said that she expects the veh to be on a vessle that is leaving Barcelona on Tuesday 11/03/2014.

The Seat rep made a "profile" for me and advised that if for some reason it doesn’t get on that boat, they will contact me.

SOOOO much more helpful than my dealer who have promised me 3 dates now...
01/03/2014, 08/03/2014 and 11/03/2014.

Not sure if this helps anyone else but might be worth doing if you are also waiting, rather than driving yourself mad tracking ships etc.

Looks like SEAT might have a bit of a backlog, as there's 2 ships scheduled for next week.

LA SURPRISE departs @ 10/03/2014 14:00
L'AUDACE departs @ 11/03/2014 14:00

Perth, - still in the UK :-)
Checked with dealer today; my week 11 build ( ordered 12th Feb) has no chassis number, is still scheduled for week 11 ( next week).
With 2 UK bound boats due to depart Barcelona on 10th and 11th I am now pessimistic on seeing my car before 10th April.

Don't give up yet. The estimated times don't mean much unless the ship is on the Barcelona leg. L'audace is not guaranteed to make its time

Ordered mine about Feb 21st - was given a date provisionally of 21/4. Was surprised as I initially had been told to expect 12+ weeks as I have ordered ACC
