Expected Delivery?

I was told that seat just order them into the country and set a port randomly if it's not reserved by a particular dealer at the time of it leaving the factory. Dealer said they'll sometimes manage to get one changed to the Tyne but it's rare, would be a nice surprise if they have though 
I took a drive along the river last night and saw the boat coming in but haven't seen them being unloaded.

Take this with a pinch of salt as I guess everyones is different for everyone but Seat customer services said that my ship was going to land in Tyne on the Thursday (I never actually got confirmation whether that was the case but I presume so), the dealer got official confirmation from the docks that the car landed in the UK and was registered on the system on the Monday after. The dealer then received a fax from the transport company on the tuesday morning that the carrier will arrive with the car on wednesday, but the carrier turned up at the dealers in Stoke that afternoon... go figure.
So you could be lucky like me and get it at the dealers within 4 days or the docks/delivery company might be on a go slow. Fingers crossed for you?

Sounds promising from what you guys are saying. I had a voicemail from the dealer yesterday that said mine was at status 40 having arrived on L'Audace at Sheerness yesterday. Fingers crossed I should hopefully finally pick mine up by the end of next week as well.
Here's hoping Eddie Stobart get their finger out and get my car 300 miles up the road sharpish. Still can't believe it's still having to come that far when it's already been about 5 miles from the dealers, when the boat was in the Tyne. Wasn't as if it was already loaded onto the boat when I ordered it! Pity I can't track the Eddie Stobart transporters like I did the L'Audace. As sad as it is, it put a bit of a twist into the waiting game

Just had another call from the dealer who's now been able to give me my reg, nothing special despite me asking to try and get something close to my initials or LFR but i suppose that's they only get a limited choice to play with. I know when I looked at Arnold Clark, they didn't even entertain the idea of requests.
Still a bit wooly on delivery dates, all they can tell me is that it's still at Sheerness and they'll get it sorted as soon as it lands with them. He said he can't foresee this being any later than mid September.
Hope I'm not having to wait that long as the estimated delivery date was 21/8. Starting to get impatient now, just want a date

Don't be tight, buy a personal reg to put on your new car.
After spending a fortune on a car the last thing I'm going to do is spend thousands more on number plate!
Though I did have a quick look, even the cheap one cost £150-200 then another £100 for the various admin fees/getting plates made.
The only plates that were anything like of interest to me were in excess of £2k. I'll get the body kit first if I had that much to throw around!

Good point Seastormer, however I'm with DaFoot on this one. I have looked at personal plates and could probably get one that suits me for around £300 however the prospect of having to pay an admin fee of 80 odd quid to the DVLA each time I change cars puts me off.
I've also seen that people's delivery times have been delayed in the past when waiting for their plate to be assigned to the vehicle, which if I was in the position I'm in now waiting longer than I was expecting for my car as it is, then being told it's gonna be another week or so whilst the DVLA pull their finger out, I think I would lose the plot.
That aside, a personal plate would be great

Nothing will split opinion more than the topic of personal reg plates. Before I ordered the Cupra I spent a lot of time lurking on audisport as an S3 was firmly in the frame at the time. There were some great (highly entertaining!) threads about personal plates that had me doubled up laughing. However, the end result was the most vociferous anti personal plate fella got banned from the forum (which was probably fair given how far he pushed it).
Basically opinions on personal plates will fall into two camps
1. Those who love them and think they add something positive to their car or image.
2. Those who think they are pointless and the people who have them look like knobs.
Won't say which camp I fall into and wouldn't dream of getting involved in a similar debate (I only read / laughed at the threads on audisport forum rather than contributed). For the sake of everyone's sanity I reckon we shouldn't have the same arguments on here. It will get messy! The members are much friendlier on this forum though I think.

No one is being that strong about it. For me, I'd have one if they didn't cost so much for a decent one.
I am one of the tightest gits you will ever meet, but I bought the reg after advice from a mate in the office who had several. They are an investment that you can enjoy instead of stuck in bank with crap rates, he said, so I spent nearly £1800 a long while back, but it's worth over £6000 now. I now have a good reg on my bike as well as still having my reg from the ice cream (sold now) on retention while I sell it. They also hide your cars age, so if you wanted to, you could buy ex demo's, but look like you had a brand new car, that never ages.

Just got informed of delivery to dealer of my Cupra 280, quite funny it was listed in the email as a 1.2 TSI Cupra 280 5 Door!!
Fantastic, that means that your car will have 280 CV but with the consumption of a 1.2 TSI. May be you will get a future engine prototype from VAG.

Hi, lucky you that you have a choice for a personal Reg. in Blighty. No in Spain, neither here in ROI, you can have a personal Reg. Just in ROI you can "reserve" a number well in advance for the next year, paying the affordable price of 1000€.

Hi,
after order the car last Saturday i have to email the dealer to get the order number from SEAT. It is a 6 digit number.i have no idea about ETA for "creation" in Martorell and delivery, but having ordered the panoramic roof I set myself in worst case scenario with 10 weeks, counting from this one (35). All I know is that it be will arrive to Cork port.
Just a matter of wait and see.

Still no update on my 184 from status 40 that it was at the other day
Going to the garage today to sign some paperwork later today so that they can get the tax sorted etc, fingers crossed they will have some more info then otherwise looks like it's gonna drag on longer than I was expecting.
Frustrated now that it looks like I'm going to have to make another payment on my existing car next Friday which I wouldn't have had to do if mine had been here anywhere near the estimated delivery date.
Hopefully the dealer will surprise me on this one

Ordered mine last day of May and was quoted late July. It's being delivered next week, although I could have had it this week though.
4 weeks longer than originally quoted, however some people seem to have got theirs quicker...
Seems it's a bit random.
