fault code 17705 help please.

Hi guys been having problems for few weeks now, Hesistation on low throttle and then pulls trough somtimes ok but sometims feels like its holding back a little. It feels and sounds as if its dumping to early or when it feels like it, if that make sence. The fault code is (1 Fault Found:17705 - Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!) P1297 - 35-00 - -) every time i clear it it comes straight back even on idle.

So before i start throwing more cash at my car on garge prices and parts as iv spent a fare bit on upgrades (forge tip, forge 007, dynotwist intake miltek cat back exhaust and p-torque stage 1 remap) and get the free version of vag com and check to see what codes if any it would give iv done a search on here a there mixed feedback on what to replace, as all the pipe work seems fine no splits i think.

So im thinking maf or n75 but iv put on n75j as i though that might of sorted the problems out but no change i shall try a leak test on the weekend to rule that out. Also i cleaned TB without unpluging it as i cant reset it should do TB reset.

I have done some logs with vag com hope iv posted them right. as its the free version not sure what to log for the best plus this is new to me and dont know what to look for so any help would be great.

I'd be checking all your hoses, there's ones under the intake manifold too. Leak test may show something. If you haven't got the full VAGCOM then try posting in the VAGCOM help section, maybe someone near you can do the throttle body reset for you.

EDIT - worth checking your 007 isn't sticking too, take it off all the hoses, push the piston in the bottom up then while holding that there cover the end of the small top pipe with your finger and let the piston go. It should drop a few mm but no more than that until you remove your finger from the top pipe.

vac pipe under inlet manifold. Its exactly what mine was like before i changed mine.

i don't think you can buy a mk1 seat leon turbo without this fault code!!!!!!!!! it comes standard with the 1.8T engines. :)

:lol::lol::lol: couldnt be more correct! iv had it for months and still cant get rid, changed vacs, n75, checked all other pipes, checked DV and nothing, limp mode baby! get used to seeing this code your gonna become very friendly with it

Thank you guys for your reply's.

Sometimes i have boost issues not pulling through the gears smoothly... sometimes not very strange, but just latelly its getting worse. Also starting to notice a real air sucking nosie but it holds back at that point cant remember air intake been as load as it is before, I will get it over the pit in work on the weekend and give it a good check over with home made leak tester and check under intake manifold pipe work. I must check the SAI pump over to as its load on startup and do the mod.

Love this site the tips and guides saved me loads time and headaches understanding how it all works :doh:.

Forgot i have done the n249 bypass to so i might change that back in work tomorrow when checking the 007 over thanks for the info on that mate ;).
Just got to say its the best car iv had in the snow better than the astra gsi turbo last year that was real bad.

Loud air noises usually mean a leak somewhere. As oldskool says check the pipes under the intake manifold very carefully, check *all* boost hoses (even behind the bumper and under the TIP.
