Thanks LEE...I had a search about signature just there it's not on my edit list under user cp is it minimum 20 posts or 15?

Anyway I have an lcr with 007 with revised piston and n249 bypass I only bought the car a few weeks ago and I was told its not mapped but by the look of that I think it is and would I be right in saying not mapped very well?

I'm living in Ireland the last owner took it in from uk 3 years ago.

206 g/s through the maff is about 260 horses so definitely seems mapped, although not gospel it is a good indication

That's what I thought alright, does the boost pressure not seem too high tho? Indicating a bad map!

not from what i can see, my mates s3 (same engine) always requested 2550mbar and his was mapped so looks ok

altho im sure one of the tuners will be able to give it a once over too

It is mapped, my Revo stage 1 LCR requests 2550 mbar or thereabouts. Yours isn't sustaining that level of boost tho, it peaks about that then tails off a bit as the revs increase. Possibly a boost leak somewhere. It's also pulling timing at mid to high RPM (block 020).

If possible, log blocks 001, 030 and 112. What gear did you run the logs in?

Is up to 6 acceptable or should they all be 0? I was due to change them yesterday but my local motor factors had no bkr7e's in stock so ill be changing them tomorrow...I had a quick look there the plugs that are in it are denso pk20pr-p8 and probably in the car 12k miles could that be a part of my problem?

Find out the ron mate. If its mapped for 98/99 ron but the fuels 95 it will account for high pull.
Something to rule out.

If you can find a local garage with a smoke machine its worth getting the vac and boost pipework tested for leaks. :)

It's rated 99 but probably more 98. I have not got a clue what it's mapped for is there any way I can find out?

Trying to find out who has a smoke tester in Dublin could be tricky!!

You want NGK BKR7EIX plugs, made a difference in CF's on my Revo stage 1 car. I don't know what Denso plugs are like when they are working right but I chose NGK over Denso after reading a couple of horror stories about Densos.

In an ideal world you'd see no CFs at all. What they mean is as described above - the map, fuel and ignition systems are being run too high and you're getting pre-detonation, this results in the car cutting ignition timing back for safety and making less power. As Pat says this could be as a result of poor quality fuel too. I'd change the plugs and switch to Shell V-Power fuel.

If you can find a Revo dealer try asking them if they can tell you if it's a Revo map on the car. Either that, or find someone who has the Revo SPS switch and a laptop, they should be able to suss it out. If it is Revo then it could just be set to run a bit too much timing advance and/or boost.

I picked up plugs yesterday so gonna fit them this evening along with an air and fuel filters, we don't have shell here the best seems to be maxol.

There is a guy Joe Power over here I think he mapped robs car on here maybe I should get it over to him and see what map it has!

Ill log 001, 030 and 112 and ill post them up here!
