Well I drove to work today thinking.....hmmm the car isnt getting very warm today.

When I got there it turns out I have no coolant left!!!! eeeeeeek.

It didnt beep at me to warn of overheating and I cant see a leak. The oil looks fine.

Ideas please, it has to be leaking somewhere.

best solution is to fill it up again and have another look.

There are two ali pipes that go into the bulk head for the heater matrix, fill her back up and run the engine to see if its leaking there. Easy job if its that, just two o-rings to replace.

Not sure about yours bud but mine has an electrical terminal hole at the top of my header tank for a low level indicator sensor but dosent have oon fitted. Think this is a typical Seat thing again where it your cars accessories all depended on who was working the day your car was built!!
As for the loss of coolant try filling it up again and sliding a piece of card or such like underneath to see where the drip is. Good luck ;)

Seems to be spot on mate. Very wet around there and in the hole so Im guessing that has to be from the pipe. I took the drip tray off and couldnt see anything in there it was bone dry, ran the car for 10mins and couldnt see any drips.

Checked all the pipes and all seem good except from there. So how do I go about removing and replacing these o rings mate?

I have the air intake to the inlet off and can get too it.

Also does anyone know the procedure for draining coolant and refilling it (ie how to bleed and where the drain nipple is) I think the nipple will be on the bottom of the rad. But no idea how to bleed the air.

There's just a 6mm allen bolt holding part 12 in, with that bracket off the pipes just come out. It took me a while to reseat the pipes correctly so don't fill it up all the way with coolant before you check its sealed ok.

No real procedure with coolant, just top back up with G12/water mix, leave the cap off the header tank and run the engine for a very short period to burp the system. Then take it for a run with the heaters on and check the levels and top up as required.

Cheers mate, Any ideas on how to drain the coolant as I wont have anywhere near the right mix after putting 2L of pure water in?

Will give this a go at the weekend hopefuly, its an excuse to take the bike to work anyway.

Just pull that pipe out and let it drain, then top up with a more concentrated G12 mix if you feel there's less come out compared to what water you put in. It will all mix in the system. If you want to drain it near enough fully, pull the bottom rad hose off.

Just cant get it to budge, the matrix behind is quite loose Im hoping it is leaking from there and not from the matrix futher into the bulkhead.

Not sure what to do now. will give it a go tomorrow.

Having no luck getting the pipes to seal with the o-rings if anything it is just pi**ing out. I have no coolant at all now.

Any ideas on how to push the pipe bac into the holes, FYI there is a bolt but tightning that up makes no difference
