Can't see why not.

have you got them to seal? I posted on the other thread my method. The allen head bolt should nip up solid, if you feel its tight and keeps doing up then the pipes/bracket are not seated properly.

Nah not yet mate, Iv orderd a few new o rings as i managed to break the last ones. My next method is to try and put 2 o rings on and see.

Just cant get it to work, been trying for days.

Right. Mine has a similar issue. It gets warm, then goes cold again, then fluctuates between the two... I'm also loosing coolant...

Apparently it's the temperature sensor.

Coolant Temp Sensor, Will..

Could also be the Thermostat too.

I was loosing coolant in my old mk4 and traced it to a weep coming from the bottom port on the rad..

I think it may well be sorted now. Red rubber greese and two o rings seems to have cured it!

Will go for a test run tonight, but the coolant seems...touch wood to be holding and not leaking.

Yep, expecting the fluids to drop slightly with when the air comes out etc. So will keep an eye on it over the next few days.

Its been killing me running the bike all week 30mpg instead of 45. Skint, especialy as the car had 55quids worth in!

Plus side, not that bad of a fix if it has worked.

Hi,

Did this cure the leak? My car is exactly the same. I went to change the O-rings and it ended up pissing out coolant even worse than before! The actual heater matrix feels quite loose!

It will just the pipe alignment mate. Mine was exactly the same total PITA to change.

Im not sure I have fixed mine. It isnt leaking out from what I can tell.

However I went out last night and I needed to put about 500ml of water back in. The level hasnt dropped overnight and hadnt been driven for the previous drop.

Im guessin this could just be air.

However the car doesnt seem to get very warm ie the temp gauge doesnt go up (even after 10mins on the drive). The heaters dont stay warm either.

Anyone?
