had a trip out to the seaside today and it was the first opportunity to give the leon a good run out.
just so impressed by this car and the engine.overtaking is just a breeze and its so effortless.
I really liked the 1.4 tsi 150 engine in my previous golf and it felt just as lively driving localy and round town but take this tdi 184 engine on a motorway and it just flies.had to slow down at times not realising what speed I was doing(oops!!)
so impressed with refinement from this diesel engine.if I'm being honest it didn't sound any louder than the tsi engine.also the ride with the 18s are very good indeed as it worried me a little that having bigger wheels would make for a harsher ride but again didn't feel any different to the 17 inch dijons on the golf.
also had a thumbs up from a fellow leon driver whilst driving back lol!!!!.
the only thing that has peed me off is that my beatifull leon looks like ive been rally driving in it.white salt stains everywhere and a million flies that have unfortunately been victim to my driving lol!!!
I'm off for a fortnight now so the next nice day we have this car is getting the full clean treatment.
I really cant rest now looking at her so dirty.
need some help also as I don't know haow to activate the adaptive cruise control.i was in cruise control but it wasn't braking for me unless I have the distance close on the options.not sure exactly how to do this??

Change the speed set point ( press lever down, mine changes in 5mph steps) to a speed lower than you are doing and the ACC should slow you down. The little cruise display on the dash will show you when the radar has locked on to a car in front ( follow mode) or if it is in purely speed control mode/

All i did was press set when i was at the speed i wanted to cruise at.a bit different to the golf as it had all the controls on steering wheel.

Anyone know if a car that has been 'rallying' or a million dead insects in front would 'interfere' with the adaptative cruise control?

Yeah dirt on the sensor will interfere with the ACC, it normally gives a message that it cant "see"
