shoudl be around 1 at idle. 0.85 ish when on boost accelerating and will max out when decellerating in gear.

seems the maxing out is normal then :)

ive researched and heard around 0.78 - 0.85 is best for power/torque (converted is around 12.0 -12.5)

yerp. maxing is normal on overrun as the injectors cut off when you come off the throttle.. hence massive air to fuel ratio as minimum fuel is being delivered..

thanks

what figures would mean red alert?
i.e. what slightly too rich or lean in your opinion

im gonna be messing around with timing and boost with the aid of CF values, intake temps, and afr figures
trying to get the best for my car..

I would be logging with vagcom for this, not using LG.

You can record several blocks at a time that way and look at your afr all the way through the rev range on boost.

I have had my lg delivered today. I saw that earlier on in the thread you said that it auto turns off when you take the key out of the ignition. Is this straight away as I did this today and the unit stayed on. I unplugged the obd port after sitting there for a few mins as it didn't show any signs of turning off.

ahh maybe it was in one of those sections then. Any ideas what sections these are off the top of your head.

Ok I am having issues with mine.
I have fitted the liquid gauge and it works but when i go into the multigauge it displays data on the screen for a few seconds then the screen states Comms error recovering. It then goes back to the gauge menu. It will however display the data on individual gauges.Any ideas?

Remove it from the OBD port and ente the password again, might help.
I get the comms error occasionally, but it works fine in multi gauge.

Save starting a new thread can others keep an eye on there coolant temp mines hovering around the 84 deg is going to 89 in traffic.
I'm just putting it down to the cold weather, the dash gauge is still at 90 though.

Alright lee mate ,

ive just got my liquid guage ,been messing ,well impressed ,
just thought id mention in the latest software you have the option to use the CAT temp for the exhaust temp (toggle the joystick the same as you would for air mass and torque in bhp and CAT will come up ), so ive got exhaust gas temp aswell on mine now .

Awsome bit of kit ,only thing is the bloody weather lol snow and black ice are not good for playing with a new liquid guage lol

just thought id mention it as you said about getting your software updated a while back

all the best

Alright lee , sorry its taken me ages lol , its rev 3.5 ,

now weathers cleared up a tad i managed to do a dyno plot too ,showed 213 bhp and 242 ftlbs ,it was 3rd tho ill try 4th next time .

which im well happy with that at the min , cos she needs a good service, oil was at 76 and coolent 76 (got a stat and cts to change at weekend lol) so she's probly running slightly rich too, so i might see another 5-7 with a service and engine running at optimum temp .
if the oil had been any lower than 70 i woudnt of thrashed it tho just incase anyones wondering ,A.Graham Bell says 70 so thatll do me lol .

so cheers lee mate, becouse if i hadnt read this thread i woudnt of got one ,

just need a turbo back and stage 2 now , arghh it never ends lol

all the best

Massive Bump!

Firstly, I apologise for the massive bump.

Busy fitting my Liquid Gauge today.

Then, this little fella came over to lend his support for removing the lower dash:

I've now fitted the gauge. Surprisingly easy to go though the vent area.

Went for a quick drive and kept getting a "Comms Error Recovering" message.

So I opened the vent from the closed the open position to relieve the stress on the cable. Seems to have done the trick. No more errors so far.

Went for a short drive just to see what was going on.

Kept getting this blue highlighted writing all the time though on every function. Is this normal? What is it? Can I make it go away?

I bought this car 6 months ago now (LCR225). The previous owner didn't have a clue, so I have no idea whether it has been mapped or anything. A clued up friend was confident it had had a remap and was estimating ~250-260 mark BHP, not managed to get above 223 since the gauge was fitted. Is this likely to be a standard map? How can I find out without a garage or VAGCOM?

But really pleased with the gauge itself. looks smart.

Cheers, Ash
