Its knocking on something.... something i assume to be my exhaust backbox :censored:

Will have to have a look when its light tomorrow but its coming from the passenger side at slowish speeds so i reckon thats what it is. Anyone else had this problem with an Eibach rear ARB?? I did a lot of reading and thought the Cupra was okay, and that it was only the R which had the problem?

Car is lowered on both Eibach Pro Springs (15-20mm drop in reality) and Eibach Dampers..... but it seems a bit silly to sell an ARB kit that doesnt fit with there very own suspension?

On the plus side, the difference is absolutely staggering... no other word for it.

be very interested to hear the out come of this mate
im thinking of going with eibach springs and fsd's with an arb kit

Hi
Yes this could be knocking on the backbox.
It is known to require a slight mod , which requires a hammer on the side just to give it a little "ding" to stop it from knocking , either that or replace the back box with a smaller one
Good luck
Sarah

Thanks Sarah :)

Yeah when we had it on the jacks last night, it looked like it might be a little close but assumed once dropped it would be fine. I take it you guys at Awesome have had to 'ding' the backbox on one or two Cupras then? :)

I had to modify the back box on my R, quite easy though, just drop it of the hangers and whack it!!. I also used a blow torch just to ease it a little;)

Do you know we havent fitted too many Eibach kits , it is usually the Neuspeed ones as there is no ding mod on those , but we have fitted some and they was pretty close , but with the Milltek back boxes , it did not seem to be too bad.
I had a long chat with Eibach in regards this and they said just a little ding and it will be ok , but with the handling improvemnt that you get it is well worth doing the mod...

I have Eibach springs, Koni FSD's and H&R anti-roll bars, front and rear.

Not a single problem with any of the three - the springs and FSD's (as supplied by Sarah @ Awesome ;) ) are fantastic, and the arb's do a good job too.

I do have a Supersprint backbox mind, but it didn't look much smaller than the standard backbox...

Hmmm, well, got the car up on the jacks again today, and its not just clipping the backbox, its cutting right across the corner, so a whack with a hammer aint gonna sort it...

Are droplinks available for the Eibach bar? Or, is there likely to be enough 'play' in the exhausts position that a garage could adjust it so it isnt in the way?

An example of what its like is..

i would suggest drop links, this maybe why awesome are not having problems with neuspeed, they come with drop links to clear.
no problems on the octavia as the back box is further out ,due to the larger back end.
what exhaust(if any ) are you using? from memory magnex ahs a fecking huge back box

Standard exhaust mate, so its a tad irritating to buy an Eibach bar specified for the car, together with their springs and dampers, and find it doesn't fit.

How safe are droplinks, and i know that Neuspeed supply them as standard for theirs, but would droplinks be okay to fit the Eibach bar?

drop links are safe enough, but not sure the eibach will take them, doesn't it bend upward straight into the base of the damper?this is why theres no need for drop linkson the eibach. sketchy memory i'd rather forget, bugger of a job lay on your back on a wet driveway :(
