it's me again folks. Decided to buy a Focal sub. Don't know which one though. Main music I listen to is reggae/dancehall/hiphop. Amplifier I have is the Alpine MRP-F550 with the following specs:
* 2 x 250W RMS (4ohms, 14.4V-BTL, 0.3% THD)
* 4 x 125W RMS (2ohms, 14.4V, 0.3% THD)
* 4 x 90W RMS (4ohms, 14.4V, 0.08% THD)

So the question is, which one of these boxes would be better suited for me:?

Focal SB 27 V1

or

Focal SB 21 V2

8" or 10", sealed or vented?

Thanks in advance. Hoping to pick up one of the two tomorrow.

I would go for a 10", probably sealed. If you want a real BOOM then go for vented - although I don't know if that's your goal.

Did you get your amp sorted before? Sort out the sparks?

Lovin' the sig...

okay thanks, I'm thinking that I'll end up with the 10" vented one. Yeah amp is running good, the color coding / diagram in the manual of the HU was wrong and so I had the amp connected to the power antenna. Quite funny because first I had it correct, but then I checked the manual again and actually changed it...

Thought you might get a kick out of the sig :D

well, walked into the store today and..... walked out with a 12" JL Audio W1V2 in a sealed enclosure.... that thing is almost too loud for my little Ibiza :D

I do have a question though, to how many Hz should I set the lowpass filter on the amp?

Nice sub funboy.

Set the lowpass to somewhere between 60-80Hz. tweak it a lil and listen to see what sounds better to you.
