Hi everyone.
2013 Leon MK3 (pre facelift)
I have an issue with the front fog lights not working at all. Several garages have had a look and can’t find the issue (bulbs replaced but no luck). Been told it could be an expensive job to look for the cause as it wires all the way into the ecu itself and could potentially need some expensive parts.
Was advised that it’s probably not financially economical to fix the issue but where I live I could really use them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be any number of things... Wiring issue, BCM issue, switch issue, coding issue.... Not something that is easily (or at all) diagnosable without seeing the car but for a specialist, it would be pretty straight forward to solve. The fogs are powered directly from the BCM.

Did you use OBD11 and attempt to turn on cornering lights by any chance ? On my 2014 I turned the cornering lights adaptation on and the fog lights stopped working at all no longer worked in reverse or when turning and on the switch so I turned the cornering lights option back off and they started working again.

In case you decide to run a connectivity test between fog light connectors and BCM side of the wiring harness, here are the pins you need to check:

Right fog light pin 1 -> BCM connector T46b pin 5 (white)
pin 2 -> earth

Left fog light pin 1 -> BCM connector T46b pin 45 (white/yellow)
pin 2 -> earth

Wire colors may be different, of course.
