hi all (again :D) i'm getting my re-map done this sat and was looking at other upgrades, i've checked the search forum because i'm interested in getting the hoses replaced, just a couple of things, is the main purpose of this to cool the air and for better durability, because when reading the posts i came across people saying theirs had split due to the increae in pressure when getting the re-map. is this a good move and if so whats the best hoses from forge?

forge have loads of hoses available for the LCR

TIP
turbo hose
intercooler hoses
boost hoses
DV relocation hoses
coolant hoses
vacuum pipes

plus other goodies, such as FMIC, DVs, bushes, short shifters, alloy engine bay bits, engine cover, etc...

you can easily spend a fortune (i know i have :whistle: )
 
When you say the top three, do you mean the top three on the link you posted, or the top three in the engine bay?

The TIP is an improvement in the stock that's said to collapse under boost on chipped motors. It gives an improvement in the pickup/spool and at the top end. It's a bit pricey though. FM225IND
The outlet hose has been known to split, I would check yours and change it if necessary (what mileage has yours done, they seem to go at around 55k odd)FM225TH
The Upper Intercooler hoses I think are worth it, especially the LH one (looking from the front) as the stock one is known to blow-off and balloon quite a bit. FMKT008
I had the LH Lower intercooler hose blow off twice, but I did go through a forge a leeeeetle bit too fast once. I bought the Forge replacements to fit the next time it did it, but it never did. Not many people change them, most have gone FMIC before it becomes a problem - they are very short after all.

Like I said, I think the only large diameter stock hose that splits/cracks is the turbo outlet, the LH Intercooler one blows off/balloons, but doesn't split.

You should read up on the Cold side relocation before buying the top hoses...

ok cheers guys, got more reading to do lol, as for hoses i meant the top 3 on the site and the cars has done about 28k miles, so is this a right step to take as i have only about £300 to spend after the map. also whats FMIC?

Have you got a Forge DV?

If yes, then I'd do the TIP and the upper hoses (haven't worked out how much that would be), if not I'd do the DV and the TIP.

Have a think about the dogbone mount and a shortshifter too :D
 
no DV I'm not to keen on them, well the sound anyway, i like the car quite, i thought and prob wrong that the DV makes the sound when releasing built up gas, is there any other purpose to it, and can you get them without the sound? also what is the benefit from them?
i'm getting the dogbone might wait a bit for shortshifter.
 
The standard DV is known to fail on chipped motors, a Forge replacement is a more durable item, it's servicable and you'll get better response on gear changes etc.

Forge 007p isn't any/much louder than the stock one, it is more noticeable on chipped motors because of the extra boost, but it's not an atmospheric so it's not a whoosy one.

so a DV 007p a dogbone and what would be the best hose to replace? if i could only have about £150 to spend? i'm also posting similar questions on the forge forum part if your not to sure.

i'd go for the 007p and FM225IND intake hose on a remapped car. there is a video somewhere of a standard hose collapsing under load on a remapped car, and the standard crappy bosch D/V is prone to split as it is made out of plastic!

Green Panel - have a look in the Badger5 section.

Enlarging the air feed to the stock airbox, and possibly smoothing it help a lot.
 
Green cotton panel filter is one of the recommended options. Had one on my LCR for about 18 months. I think it was around £40 from Badger Bill, who is also a forum sponsor.
 
also whats FMIC?

It's a front mount intercooler, looks like this:

It replaces the standard side mount intercoolers.
 
It is louder than stock, yes, but it's not too loud. If you increase the intake to the stock airbox, and make sure the air intake is sealed to the airbox it's practically no louder than stock.
