Forge Split-R Valve - Question...

Received my valve and fitted it today to my LC - Thanks to Forge and also SCN for the discount

Gave it 1.5 to 2 turns and all seemed well no rattling on idle and performance seemed fine but with more whoosh! Only when i went to put the car in the garage did i notice the valve had started making the rattling sound.

Tried adjusting it again half turn at a time but its still rattling managed to get it down to a fairly quiet rattle but should there be any at all....?

did you adjust it before you fitted it, or once all fitted with the vac line on the top (well side this way)?

I gave it a turn after fitting it. First time i started the car it wasn't rattling. Instructions say if it doesn't rattle then give it 1.5 to 2 turns. When i done this everything seemed to be ok. Was only after driving for half and hour it started rattling....

When adjusted it later after hearing the rattling i turned the engine off and loosened the clip so not to twist the narrow hose, and gave it a half turn at a time...

ive had no rattling on mine and that was with both ways of fitting...i dont know if people are looking to far into it and pressing the lugs up against the DV for any noise!!

i am really gutted now cause put the 007p one on and was really disappointed as i couldnt really hear it. is forge the only place u can get it from? none on ebay or anything?

Too early for ebay to have them I think, Forge is your only choice.

no no, dont get disappointed the 007p is a proven good valve that EVERYONE had/has

its not standard at all, they have interchangable springs available for them depending on what psi you run your turbo at

majnority of people are still using them, myself included

yeah i know but i wanna hear it, thats why i was disappointed, but if i got a bmc-cda will it make it louder or do u think i should get a green panel filter? do u have to do anythin to ur airbox?

With the BMC you will here the turbo spooling up more and sucking in air. A bit like darf vader.

The Forge Split-R dv has only been available since mid January i think so not long! Price on the website minus the SCN 10% discount

If you put an open cone filter on your car, you will hear it dump.
If it has been mapped the dump noise will be louder. Also if you bypass your N249 valve the dump noise will be louder still.
