Formentor Nappa leather problems

Good day for all of you!

I have a small question about Formentor and quality of Nappa leather used.
My car have VZ trim, 310bhp (I don’t know, may be it is important :)

15000km, less than one year of usage. My seats already… tired. See attached photos.

Never had leather interior before and want to know should I panic or maybe have options to fix it.

Just for reference: my weight is 70 kg, so I don’t think that problem is in my fat rear bumper)

Hi there, yes it's quite normal for nappa leather. My seats look similar after 9000 miles only.

There's a thread here about it https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/leather-creasing.470676/

Welcome to the forum. It’s normal for leather to crease a little but make sure you do treat them to some leather feed now and then. I have also had my seats “steamed” before and that cleaned and got them back into shape. The seat cushions and bolster do sag but that’s quite normal too.

The Cupra leather isn’t too bad however if you really want to see what wear looks like, have a look at used Audi’s - A3 and A4 with leather and see how they wear especially on the drivers side - it ages the vehicles so bad!

Makes the less expensive “standard” artico (man made) leather that Mercedes use more acceptable with hardly any wear being noticeable.

You can reduce the wear by cleaning correctly with the appropriate products but be careful what you use as this could remove the protective layer applied by the manufacture. Have a look at DetailingWorld forums for leather care.

You can also reduce wear by being careful how you get in and out of the seats. With heavily bolstered seats, I avoid putting pressure on the outside bolsters when getting in and out; minimises the risk of a) damage to the seat covering whether fabric or leather and b) the bolsters collapsing.

Also with leather, be especially careful when wearing clothing with zips and metal fastenings as they can cause scuff marks and tears in the leather.

Are there more than one of you having this problem?

Did you find a solution?

I would like to order a Formentor with the leather pack but I am afraid of the seats wearing out over time (and resale)
