Formentor Problems

Hi Folks
Am experiencing new probl8wurh my Hyprid 245ps Cupra ...
1) Keyless entry if it works once, it doesn't response 10 times..
2) the sunroof is not responding sometimes, i need to touch the light on button in order to make the hatch open or close..
3) my account is usually needs password and it takes era to connect and to get my settings loaded .
4) the loading hatch door suppose to work with my leg movement..again it kills me and people think i am idiot tying to open the boot.

This is on top of the famous Infotainment system freezes and lag

I bought the car for 3 weeks now, i am really annoyed and disappointed.
Any ideas?

Sounds like from the problems you have, except for the infotainment, that these are not common issues - I'd recommend just going to the dealer.

My keyless entry and sunroof work fine - no issues noted so far.

4) Loading hatch takes a bit of "skill" to open. The way I found it easiest is to put my leg slightly to the left of the Cupra sign and then move my leg forward under the car and back after half a second or so.

Waving left to right doesn't work well neither does keeping your leg too long under the car.

About 2) Not sure if I understood you, are you saying sliding your finger doesn't work?

Yes, i have to hit the panel in order to become responsive to the sliding finger to open the sunroof

On other times the touch screen is not responsive until you have driven about half a mile, then it starts to be responsive, most annoying as I like to cancel the lane guiding before starting off. But no matter I still like the car and just get on with it until maybe at my first service they will have a fix for all the faults

Wow I must be lucky as my lock and unlocks works every time now I have put the kiss of death on it. Boot thing I don’t have as only have a V2! My screen can be a bit laggy and app logs you out sometimes.

You have a shortcut button on the end of the indicator stork, press it once and then ok on the steer wheel. All doors will have to be shut before trying this.

I’ve had mine since sept with so many issues with my centre consul keeps locking so you can’t use the screen at all it’s been in garage 3 times now and the sos ? on screen keeps coming on saying ring them through the button but there not interest they just say there was no connectivity in the zone, but traveled from Bristol to London and it was like it all the way

I had this issue, Cupra took the car in and said they needed it for potentially 3 days. They do an update to the SOS module, which if that is successful it takes a day or a replacement is circa 3 days.

Mine is completely sorted now from the update so it can be fixed.

Is the patch a software or hardware fix My VZ2 310 will be due a service in May and has the common issues with SOS, acc not letting me overtake, speedometer displaying kph instead of mph, issues with the wireless charging (my phone overheats within half an hour), kessy not working and intermittent issues with the virtual step button not opening the boot or the button opening the boot and sometimes the boot won’t close, the key/electric seat memory is hit and miss and the Cupra connect app is very hit and miss as I keep getting messages saying that the privacy settings have been changed so I can’t connect to my car. Apart from that everything works perfectly ? My dealer is 50 miles away so I’m hoping that all the issues will be fixed during the first service?

When everything works they are great cars. I would still order the car again knowing the intermittent issues. I have a Seat Arona FR Sport 1.5 DSG on order for my partner as since she has driven my Formentor she said she prefers an automatic gearbox so doesn’t want to drive her Ibiza. I wonder what excuse she will use when the Arona arrives in April ?

My car went in today, the service guy was very friendly, he said the car needed an update even though my car wasn’t due one. The company were really great, they said any issues bring it and we will fit you in. I can’t stress how good that feels. As when I have been in you might not see the problem, and they said it didn’t matter how many times they just wanted to get it right for me.

It’s funny I haven’t let anyone else drive it yet as I’m like a kid with a new toy with it, as the newness hasn’t warn off yet. I’m sure it will as I’ve got it for about another 3.5 years left.

The Formentor is the first car my partner has ever wanted to drive. When we are going out she grab’s her keys and says she is driving. The only time I get to drive it is when she has been drinking or if I’m going out on my own which isn’t much as I work from home.
