Formula BMW is no more

There will be no FBMW at the BTCC after this season.

I always thought they were better than Formula Renault, but thats not saying much!

No replacement, "to free up the tight timetable"

The Formula BMW's were occasionally interesting for the first few laps (if the kids were being hot headed!) but thereafter became very processional. Usually one runaway winner for most rounds most seasons IIRC
The cars are too delicate to panel bash so never much wheel to wheel action.

Won't miss it from a spectating point of view. Give us another Clio race any day #

Only shame is that it deprives theses rookies of their chance to compete on a big stage.

The (few) overtaking moves were always good to watch as there was a lot of skill involved. Give me Tin Top bashing anyday!
