Oooooh Good work :thumbup::thumbup: I really like it - not just because its all predominantly green I will have you know though  I also like the HUGE :search: bar at the top :D Ace  Would it be at all possible to have a font format bit (cant think of what its called) on the quick reply at all ? Just for those of us that like a bit of colour or pretty fonts  Ok I know Im being fickle

Ta glad your like it.

I think the idea of the quick reply is to be quick though, so I don't think there are options to have WYSIWYG tools in the quick reply box. That is under advanced controls only.

But I will take a look at the options to see.

I thought I'd give it a day or two to get used to it before I posted anything.

First impression was that it looked new and fresh, obviously things are different but it is definately an improvement on the old one.

Big pat on the back to all involved for the all the hard work you have put into the site and long may it continue.

Not just one skin though, every time something is upgraded or recoded in the software, it means twice as much work to make sure multiple skins conform. Frankly if someone has their own forum and is happy to faff about and change stuff then that's their prerogative isn't it.

I think you maybe under some illusion that this forum is a business and we spend every waking hour servicing it and the people who use it. Since we began the forum way back in 2001 it has been foremost a hobby and something we enjoy to do. But the minute it becomes a job and people start to make demands it ceases to be fun and enjoyable.

We have real lives and careers outside this place that take priority over everything else.

Now it maybe quite simple to make alterations and have other skins running, but frankly we neither have the inclination or the time to do that.

i my site i had 5 skins at 1 time and it a lot of work and i mean a lot so it down to 1 as that the best way . keep up the good work all :D

We do take the comments on board, and we are still very much tweaking it. No doubt over time we'll keep on developing it and fixing stuff when and where we can.

Some comments are frankly very pedantic though and they are very unhelpful on the whole.

However thank you for the kind supportive comments, we do appreciate it. Our aim was to give it a fresh, clean look and even if I do say so myself I think we achieved that.

We had to go for something bespoke that was created for us, rather than something off the shelf as we did last time.

Off the shelf skins are all well and good but they tend to be designed for different genres. Some had colour schemes which were horrendously complex and garish. (World of Warcraft anyone!) Then others were ok and would of been simple enough to modify but their layout was complex and confusing and would of required a lot of re-coding for our rather large and long established database.

This particular skin has been created only for us and coded for us. Though it wasn't quite to spec, it gave us the backbone on which we have been able to modify and build upon. So in that sense it is still unfinished, but it's like moving house. Some things you can put up with some thing you need to redecorate and renovate to your tastes.

it is a thankless task sometimes, but muchos appreciated for all the help, configuration that you guys do

without this site, I would not have been able to carry out the turbo conversion, work or technical assitance from the admins and members that make this site

there will always be gripes, as not all changes are to everyones taste...but what has been done so far since the upgrade I think is pretty much spot on:D

There are some on wayback machine.

Here are the Forums, though not all are displayed correct they tend to default to the default vB skin and not how we may of actually had the templates setup. Remember when SCN was Blue and Black. :p Now that really was NSFW. :D

The website archive has more changes to see- http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.seatcupra.net/

We don't tend to keep hold of stuff though, we move on we don't get to sentimental on old designs. :)

Was just wondering if it is possible to have email notifications for replies to messages in a social group. Looked in the User CP and didn't see anything.

If not no worries.

Doesn't appear to be any options to do that, but I'll keep looking and check the software support forums to see if anyone else has requested something similar.

It may not feature at the moment, but could make a later update.

If you click 'view conversation' on your own page, your reply (in the box) will automatically be put on the other person's page, Pat.
