Fr front bumper

Hi all , i 'm looking to replace the front bumper on my O6 PLATE leon tfsi sport with a FR version , is this straight swop ?

Aren't you in the wrong forum? Unless your looking to put an Altea FR front bumper on your Leon in which case I think the answer is that it won't fit.

Mk2 Leon and Altea front bumpers are the same

It's the rear's that are different....

And yes, an FR bumper will ft straight on to another version.

Comtemplating doing it myself

Maybe I had better start looking out for a cupra or a K1 bumper for mine then.

I think I'm going to need your help as I've just bought a cupra front bumper. Might be a while since I'll need it re-painting first but since it was only £31 the cost to change should be small

As for the Cupra bumper...... I missed out on an FR one on eBay last night....

Mk2 Leon and Altea front bumpers are the same

Well similar but not the same. Picked up the Cupra bumper today and for sure it looks like it will fit but the vertical dimension from the corner of the light (nearest the wheel) to the bottom of the bumper is 20" which is the same as the painted section on a standard Altea bumper which then has the grey plastic part underneath to add depth. So if you change to a Leon Cupra/FR bumper it will actually be shallower than your standard one. Depends what look your after but I'd want to at least retain and possibly increase the depth of the standard bumper.

Interesting. I'm also looking for a leon cupra/fr front bumper to replace my current bumper.
Are you going to fit the cupra bumper so we all can see the before and after pictures (for me it is hard to imagine the difference. Probably more because my lack of english than your explenation skills ).

Pictorial explanation attached. The red line is 20" and would show where the Leon Cupra bumper would finish. As you can see it is not as deep as the Altea bumper. Whilst I have the Aero front spoiler added, even the standard Altea bumper is deeper than that of the Leon Cupra. I've now sold the bumper on so there won't be any before and after pics from me. Sorry.

Thanks for the picture, now I understand.
This means that I can stop my search for a leon FR bumper and keep my current Altea FR bumper.... I think the leon FR bumper will look silly on the altea
