The petrol is a much nicer drive though, I found. Not all rattly and don't vibrate allot. I also found they feel allot more nimble whilst driving quickly. The diesels are beauts if you want to drive fast yet get good fuel economy though, I loved my White fr.

Yeh the petrols as standard feel quite flat low down but once mapped they boost and kick you in the back like the diesels then just keep going.

I got used to the vibrations etc in mine, also had a fast road rear engine bush which made it vibrate loads more haha

Think you get used to it, lad who bought my White one, his mum drove it home and said she hated it, it was a rattly little biscuit tin, or something. How rude haha

They don't half help with getting power down though, need one for this car too

I think my FR has broke every time I turn it on coz idle is so quiet xD
too used to the noisy diesel start xD

oh boom boom ? lol I hate loud exhausts! not really my thing :(
They annoy me, prefer a silent but best performance, but I'm guessing it don't work like that

ive just bought an 07 cupra petrol 20k paid 8 grand for it. the diesel equivilant was around £1500 - £2000 more. and im loving it! it drives lovely, pick up is great, and its very very smooth. i couldnt justify paying that much extra for the diesel, even tho i tend to prefer the characteristics of it!
Get the petrol, you wont be dissapointed, plus it isnt that bad on fuel, i averaged 35mpg on a fairly spirited drive on the way home from chester not so long ago!!

The petrols are rewarding if you can afford the running costs!

Now that I've had both FR's I can say I definately prefer petrols but only getting 31mpg which is 280 miles to £50 lmao! Gunna be expensive to run, got 370 absolute minimum on mapped PD130 sport, usually 420 or something

I'm just a bit spirited coz I only just got it !

I'll know I'll calm down but just enjoying going over 4,500rpm for now !

My green cotton from PD130 fits straight on too! didn't think it would, helps it pick up a lot quicker, it's so noticeable, need the expensive PD160 pipework now :( then remap I think, don't want to over-mod it

too excited! I love it

could I go to stage 2 or do you need more mods ?

what's the difference just a custom map over a more generic?

don't really wanna ask insurance how much all of that will be tbh !
I'll stick with stage 1 for now as it will keep me entertained :D
