was over £2,000, couldn't bring myself to do it ! and I would have preferred my bro astra VXR he selling anyway, insurance for £1,700 with £1,000 excess! :D

Can get FR for £1,200 :)

I'm 19 <_<

clean license, no claims, crashes etc. so will be able to get good quotes later :)
mapped FR will be quick enough for now!

Thats very good for a ED30 at 21, Scott...

I nearly got a mk5 gti when i was 20 but quotes were around 2k and couldnt afford the car and insurance without loaning money, so got the cheaper cupra, paid insurance and blew the rest on mods! now im 21 eveything has halfed! Itl be another year until i get a new car at least anyway so will hopefully be cheaper by then and give me time to save up for ed30/k1/s3.

I tried some daft cars online on the bell website to see what quotes came out at, evo 8 fq-300 was 1800 quid, ferarri 360 was 1900 :| couldnt believe i actually got a quote on either of them

edit, tried again just to see:

looks exactly like elephant & admiral insurance! probably another leg of the company

nice quote though!

Defo go Cupra diesel, my wife has one - we did a camping trip to Cornwall in it, got 385 miles out of the tank and 56 to the gallon!!! My wife loves hers to bits and is glad she put the extra in to go Cupra, plus diesel over the petrol - sensible yet so much fun!

100% as above, if a car overtook me I used to go "oh well at least I got double the mpg they did whilst doing it..."

now I go

"oh well at least I was having twice the fun :D"

great engine! it just makes me wonder what the new 2.0 TSi is like coz this engine is hard to replace

yeah but is the extra running costs of the petrol worth the extra 0.3 of a second in the real world? - That is the question ...Torque rules!! :)

Phase, my wife says, why did you let them overtake you? lol she says boot it! The extra smog is always quite handy for those who like to get a bit close ;-)

Yes, it really is, i had a mapped fr and now have a stage 2 petrol cupra. Got near enough as much torque in my petrol cupra as i had in my mapped fr (more than diesel cupra) plus another 70 odd hp

+1 if money is put the side petrol is just better :D

plus with my diesel it was false economy having a 9500 quid car to drive about in because it was good on fuel. Cupra was only 5800 with less miles on it, so worked out miles better moneywise :D
