I've read the actual horsepower stated underestimates what some people are getting from their standard cars. Has anyone put their standard car on a RR and mapped it? If so what are you getting?

I like the sound of that.. looks as though the rollers are acurate too (unlike some of the others!)
Are you pleased with the custom-code remap???

Yep, very pleased with the remap. It was a bit scary for a day or two, but after that great fun.

Thanks for the replies. I hope - when I get my leon - it'll be the one that gets 182 hp but knowing my luck it'll probably be on the wrong side of ur 168 hp yorkphil. Does the age of the engine relate to the hp you get?
I'd like to get mine chipped but I think thats as likely as a blow up penis at a feminist convention (company car). How is chipping get on now that its got a DPF on the new 170 tdi?

This was my Golf GT4motion I am taking about and was at Motoscope in northallerton n/Yorks on there new DASTEK 4 wd rolling road My car was on after a another GT4motion that had a REVO Code and that had 1hp more but a lot higher up the rev range,Mine had more torque than the Revo and lower down.
198.3hp@3916rpm and 316 lbf.ft @2337rpm That was the best of 6 runs.This was done and an article about it was published in the VW Driver mag last year.
Vw Tdi engines can be producing between 10-15 % more hp than the stated amount and so mine had 158 + the superchips extra of around 37 + 195 + mine had a Miltek Stainless exhaust and foam air filter and so you can now understand how it had 198.The man who had his Revod was not happey when he saw my print out I can tell you ,also his smoked a lot more than mine and also blew its turbo latter on a track day!
My car also had bigger brakes,Haldex Gen two 4wd controller and Koni sports + H&r and BBS CH to name a few of the things i did to it.
Superchips are the only tuning company to give a warranty on your engine if it does blow up it will get repaired who else offers that !.
Motoscope build and maintain rally cars such as a Ford Puma with escort WRC 4wd running gear they build rally engines and transmissions and axles plus servicing.

I know Motoscope - they have a good reputation (in fact I had a 205 Gti chipped there many moons ago!)
But 2 cars with different maps, both producing around 10% above what the tuners claim - dont you think theres even a small possibility the rollers are over-reading?
Its not impossible by any means, especially with your exhaust - but there are so many exagerated figures quoted from rolling roads that its almost impossible to be sure which ones are correct.
There are many people on here who have had standard FR 170's on the rollers and achieved a claimed 185bhp, even over 190bhp.. Great figures, and I hope they are correct - but I somehow doubt it.

If you search various VW forums you will see when ever these 140 tdi engines are put on any ones rollers including Superchips they always produce a lot more than quoted,But its not the maximum power that I am interested in it is how it drives.
Also the thing with the test I did was that mine with a Superchip had only a 1 hp difference than an identical car with the Revo chip and mine had better drivability due to more torque at a much lower rev point and that is how you drive a derv engine by using the pulling power as I said the other cars owner thought Revo was going to be a lot better as it had cost him 750 fitted and mine only cost 440 with a warranty and was far better I have not seen him since .

So super Chip offer a warranty.. Do they do a plug and play chip, one that can be turned on or off at any time by the owner (eg, for servicing, MOT etc)
Not on the FR 170 at the moment, its a standard serial port download.
I understand that they are working on the Bluefin version, so it should be available sooner or later
