Re: FR8ZER's Cupra tdi =) Now Cat-less (meow)
So...
To start with I needed the car up to get under neath it (can see my wind deflectors, that i havent posted a wee pic of yet )
Having a good look underneath, the middle section is joined to the back box section with this.
Couldn't get a photo of the Front bolts while it was in place, so heres a pic of the cat as it's fitted.
So...
To get a hand to the front bolts, you need to remove the big daft plastic skid pan (torque bits securing this to the car about 8 to 10 of these forgot a pic of this) There is also a U shape silver cover which is secured by 2 bolts, will give u more space as u look up to the front joint.
As I was too excited about having the section off with no broken bolts or damage to anything else, I forgot to take a picture of the whole section off the car, but use ur imagination here
Few more angles of the finished product
Took a wee picture of what should be a wee look right thro the cat, see if you can spot the daylight.
How does the car now drive? Well I feel theres less turbo lag, I'm guessing its due to the bottle neck of gasses being removed and it spins up more free'ly now. Used to be foot down, wait a wee second, bang! power would come in. Now as ur foot is on the way to the floor, the turbo is already spinning quite nicely and the powers there alot smoother and earlier.
Noise? As its been said in many other posts it hasn't released a masive amount of noise ( still running the huge standard back box.) I will go for a custom back box at some point to release a nicer note. Noise at the moment is the turbo constantly spinning, blowing out of the exhaust ever so slightly get a little woooooo noise on the turbo spool down.
Well worth the modification.
Cheers for looking, Frazer
