should i go standard seat oe pads or should i seek alternative fast road pads ??

Mileage sounds about right for the oe brembo pads ;)

I've a spankey new set of DS2500 LCR pads for sale if you're interested?? Can see you're a newbie, so e-mail me here if you're interested!!

DS2500's are far better than the oe brembo pads - more bite, no fade, longer life... lower cost!!

I've just got some DS2500's from Badger5 as well. When I eventually get around to fitting them I'll let you know what I think!

I have some of both types 1045 (standard ) and 1055 (fast road) available from the group buy and ordered extra for any late takers
Front 1045s are £40.89 inc P&P
Front 1055s are £60.93 inc P&P

Both types are for LCR and I do have a few 1055s left for LC

I've pretty much toasted a set of fronts in the same time (I've already had new tyres after 6,500).

Are there any reviews on the Galfers yet and do you have any left quattroman?

Having read the guide on here I'll probably change them myself, I just need to pick up a torque wrench and possibly a 2nd trolley jack!

When I got the tyres changed they tightened the wheel nuts to 90 f/lbs is that right?

Lots about various pads on here and lots of choice - OE brembo have wear sensor but Beeza ones are as good but cheaper as no sensor. Ferrodo I never got to try but am told are good, EBC Greenstuff seemed as good as the OE ones but lasted a bit better. Carbon Metallics were very very good but ate disks and left dust welded to the wheels.

Upto you what to buy but lots of advise on here - Rog seems like a good bet for the DS2500's though.

I use the DS2500's in my Beemer and seriously rate them. Will slap some onto the Leon when the Brembo's have expired.

Brakes for LCR

Hi People
Sorry about not getting back to you guys quick enough but yes I do have a few sets of standard Galfer 1045s and fast road 1055s pads for Leon Cupra R's -also waiting on delivery time of Galfer standard 323mm discs for LCR's as well, as they will be a very good price.
Anyone want to give any feedback on the 1055's because i havnt tried them yet-too cold to play around outside just for the hell of it.-I am still using the 1045's at present.

Hi..

I've got some standard LCR brembo front pads, brand new, that you can have for 60 pounds inc P+P.. so about half what you would pay a dealer..

Cheers

I got 16k miles out of mine, but some people have got only half that.

I've tried three types of pads;-
- OE Galfer / Brembo pads
- Performance Friction Carbon Metallics
- Ferrodo DS2500

I really loved the perfromance frictions but they ruined my wheels with hot brake dust that just didn't shift.

Second choice is the Ferrodo DS2500 or Bill also does Ferrodo DS3000

Full fitting guide to changing the pads yourself on the front page of this site under......erm.....guides......very easy to do though
