Front Parking Sensor Dislodged

Hi, went out to my car this morning, parked on my drive, and noticed a hole in the front bumper! On closer inspection I realised that the left hand inner parking sensor is pushed back about 10mm, there is no sign of any damage to the bumper so don't know how this could have happened. Does anyone know how these are attached to the bumper? Factory fitted to ST FR December 2015. Any help much appreciated.

I can help here as my front sensor was wrongly fitted at the factory.

The sensors are held in place by two clips attached to the inside of the bumper. They are of the squeeze to open variety. Mine was broken as a piece of packing had dropped down at the moment they applied the bumper to the car. The garage had tried to repair it by removing the bumper, putting a cable tie on and replacing the bumper. This was done very badly indeed and necessitated a new bumper in the end.

It may be possible to put your hand up behind the bumper but if the clips are broken and you want a proper repair it's a new bumper unless the clip assembly is a separate part which is glued on from the inside of the bumper.

Thanks for the quick reply and info, I've just looked under bumper but there doesn't seem to be any access from there, if the grill below the number plate or the grill with the Seat badge can be removed separately from the bumper then I can probably get good access.
Any pics you or anyone else may have would be a great help.
Wondering if I might get it done under warranty?

It looks like there is a part number on the holder assembly. The cable tie is NOT supposed to be there.

Warranty work?

That's fantastic, great clear picture, interesting that it's the same sensor position as mine.
I think if it's down to poor construction may be able to get done under warranty.

How old is the car? Clearly not fit for purpose

One of my front sensors has taken a rather large hit from a stone and has been pushed back into the bumper. I can get my fingers behind to pull it forward into the correct position but regularly slides back. Doesn't sound like there's an easy fix

How about some silicon rubber adhesive applied to the sensor and then tidied up from the front and held in place with some masking tape overnight. The beauty of this is that it's all removable should the need arise.
Black or clear for about £3 a tube

Well that's defo a warranty job then. How about taking a photo from below the bumper if that's poss. You might be able to see any broken bits.

Thanks guys for your great help, was going to go to dealer this morning but decided to have another go at pushing it from behind with a finger through the grill below sensor, had to have a couple of goes with quite a bit of pressure and the sensor clicked into place with a good sounding click so I'm hoping it's going to be OK. Cheers!
