front rattle

hey up
anyone out there tell me why overuneven and pot holed roads my mk 1 tdi 110 make a noise from the front and back like a rattle on a bin lid
even feel some bumps in steering wheel
on normal dual carriage wAys fine
just passed mot and had main dealer service front sump guard got couple of clips loose but this sounds like my old fiats wishbones nightmare

At the front, it could be ball joints or drop link needs tightening up

bushes, anti roll bar D bushes, wishbones. Mine was doing the same, replaced the wishbones and antiroll bar link rods today, that halved the noise, but my D bushes are still shot, same with rear bushes.

I got mine off Ebay, far cheaper than dealer prices.

Depends where, I got all my bushes and wishbones for less than £75 inc del, and so far only £120 for the front wishbones fitted, forgot to get D bushes, which will be another £10. Rear bushes not fitted as they did not have time. But it all up will be £300 for mine to be fitted, but had I been organized and everything ordered would have been about £250.

I was initially quoted £800 from main dealer for front bushes, ARB bushes and rear bushes incl fitting, I told them to take a hike, then found another place only charging a 1/3 of that.

Worth shopping around anyway.
