Front window electric failure

My front left window is stuck on my Cordy '06.
The right window has no problems. All fuses check out ok. I get some sort of clicking sounds from inside the front left door when pressing the button.

What could be wrong?

motor/cable mechanism is shot.

new one from SEAT is circa £100 +fitting

Thank you for the answer. But shouldn't the standard 2 year guarantee cover this?

it's defently your motor gone cos i've got the same thing just havent got round to doing it yet?! but it should still be under warrenty!

or german and swedish £80 and a 10 mins job.. as i did my bros on his MK4 polo...

if it's an '06 plate, then yes it will be covered under the warranty

mine went on my '99 reg Mk2 Ibiza when it was under warranty, and they replaced it FOC.

do G/S/F do windows for a cordoba though on a 99 plate?? or are they the same as another golf model? its a two door aswell!

usually window mechanisms are different for each model unless two models have the same door [i.e. ibiza and cordoba],,, this is because the guides are different for each door shape,,,

if the warranty has run out, then do it by yourself it's a 10 minute job really, done it on my mk3 and it was dead easy and intuitive, you don't need any guide,,, I suppose is quite the same on the mk4,,,
