Yesterday I spent the best part of the day with the car on axel stands changing various parts as Im due to start a new job and yet more mileage is to be travelled in the Arosa sport.

After doing all the fluids, filters, plugs, etc etc I decided to change the fuel filter as there was no history of it ever been done on my vehicle.

When I had changed the filter I decided dismantled the old one to see what it was like inside. Well, ...it was black! lol.

The car is coming upto 7 years old and had covered approx 67,000 miles (10,000 so far this year).

It states that the filter is to be changed every 40,000 miles. What would you recommend?

After seeing the state of the old one I removed, im sure it would be wise to change it more regular?

How did you change it? Whats the best way?

Its the one filter I don't change myself at the mo, as I don't want to be messing with flamable fuel under pressure!

Its located behind the rear wheel on the side where the petrol cap is.

Its really easy to change actually, the old one simply screws off the car body then you just dissconnect the pipes (which DO pee fuel every where as there pressurised) had a tray under to collect it all. Screw the new filter back on, then re connect the pipes to it. Its as simple as that. The pipes just unclipp off it with hand force so no pliers needed etc, pretty good actually.

I wasn't going to do it but did as the car needed a real good overhall before I start adding more motorway miles! ;)
