It is strange as if you help the selonoid pull back when the button is pushed it retracts and would work properly, going to put inline crimps on the cables and then see what voltage i get with it pulling the current see if it shows a problem.

Right just jabbed the multi-meter probes in the back of the plug on the harness and it pulls about 0.97v and you can feel the actuator twitch as the button is pushed so is is lacking power when its connected up but when dis-connected it gives a 12,17v reading.

Sorry but that wasn't an option lol cheers for your help mate i'll go back to the old method of finger tips and levering it lol

No but will try that when it's all next apart, does seem very odd that it worked the first ime tried and then not after. Hey ho

Just to add if anyone else is experiencing a stuck fuel flap /cap and the button not working , check your battery is full charged my car often goes weeks or months without being driven although on a ctek charger when i remember it has a enough to start the car but not fully charged . after a full charge button worked fine.

Nine years?

Sorry, it just has to be done...........................................................

Anyway, now the thread is running.

The fuel flap lock motor is identical to the boot lock motor,
except for the odd yard of clock spring that winds it back to the start position when the power stops.
I used one for fixing my boot lock after taking it apart to get rid of the spring.
So no, you can't use a boot lock motor to fix the fuel flap.
But yes, you can use a fuel flap motor to fix the boot lock, once you take it apart & toss the spring.

Broken bootlock? Let me guess... The result of a snapped wiper washer spindle?

Got both actuators available if anyone needs them

Hi guys!

So I read everything but I am a bit confused. I am having the same problem. The squeeky sound of the fuel cap opening doesn't happen anymore and it stays shut. What should I check first?

1- Relay? Fuse under the dash from the driver?
2- Solenoid? Whats the part number for that?
3- Lube the entire thing?

Also didn't understand where to go to the solenoid, from inside the boot trunk or outside through the fuel cap :)

Would be glad for help, still have a 1/2 gas tank! :)
