There is a fuse for the alarm, in fact two are shown on the wiring diagrams, both on the relay plate, so well out of sight and hard to get to.
I suspect that they are in fact "thermal regeneration fuses", a kind of small circuit breaker, so should never need attention. However at least one poster has found that they can break - but his was for the electric seats. In his case the moving part inside had broken, rendering the item useless. He traced the
problem by swapping it with the electric window fuse.
For test purposes an ordinary car fuse should fit the fuseholder. Fuses 144 and 111, both listed as position F on the relay plate, above the relays and third along out of four. Never actually looked at them myself, so let us know what you find.
